I am an Astrologer, a Mother, a Friend
Groups: Yoga, Astrology, Nature, I love Bali!
The experience at Susan's house is transport you to the authentic Bali. Her home is full of charm, in the middle of nature, with a lovely garden where you wake up with the sun and the flowers in the morning.
There is a lovely outdoor balinese style bathtub and a comfortable four poster bed. Ideal for couples looking for a relaxing and peaceful oasis in the middle of the bustle of Ubud.
Ubud is about 15 minutes walk but you can take any taxi to or from the city very easily and cheaply if you don't want to walk.
Ketut, his manager there, was very helpful for us going to the airport, being patient with our arrival queues and processing the visa, plus join a nearby supermarket to buy some things.
They are responsible for making daily cleaning in the house and leave everything ready, so our stay becomes easier.
Thanks Susan and Ketut for everything!
This bungalow is ridiculous in all the best ways possible!! Tucked back off the main roads in a little village just outside of Ubud, Penestenan. Exactly as pictured, but the bathroom is much more magical in person. The mosquito nets get three thumbs up!!! A decent walk (bring a sun hat, a small towel to wipe all of your sweat, and a bottled water w ya!) to Ubud city, but close enough to walk to shopping, eating, museums, and the Monkey Forest!!! Bungalows are just behind BuBu's Warung, which is on Trip Advisor as a great spot to eat!! It was closed during my stay because of the Hindu ceremony happening in the area at the time of my stay, but worth trying when you don't want to walk as far as Ubud city to eat. Staff is friendly and efficient. Didn't get a chance to meet Susan at all, but there was no need as everything was seamless. Wifi was stellar!!! Safe inside the room for precious personal items. Lots of windows w beautiful garden views. Only the tub produces hot water (the shower only cold) but you are told this upon arrival. The tub was honestly more inviting in this gorgeous inside/outside space. Both Beds were very comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend!!!
Beautiful cottage in Ubud lived up to its namesake, we loved this little cottage in Paradise! Everything was clean and tidy, the pool was lovely. We found a fantastic little bar over the road, Round Bar - became our second home! pizzas were yummy!
Ketut was very helpful and he arrived on time to pick us and take us back to the airport. Would highly recommend a stay here, Susan the host was very thorough and helpful too, many thanks!
The cottage is beautiful and very well located! Beautiful garden (swimmingpool is not really to swim but to cool off), with beautiful plants and flowers, beautiful cottage and perfect fot two people. Ketut was a great help. I can make it short: we had a perfect wonderfull stay!
The reservation was canceled 44 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed at this beautiful cottage for four days and what a heavenly experience it was! Traveling on my own I felt secure and comfy, and the pool, what fun it was to jump in and enjoy the cool water on the warm days after sightseeing and enjoying the wonders of UBUD as they unfold !
The cottage tub is also magnificent ,large and fabulous , outside with flowers and beauty , great for a soak before hitting the town at nite ,which is only a short taxi ride anywhere.
The little paths that lead from the house,to the yellow flower cafe and more, are charming and fun to explore,a great walk .
The cottage is soooo pretty, with it's light grey overtones ,yet with a BALANISE feel , along with a hint of modern.
The bed is comfy , and the little meditation room adorable with it's bubbly, flowing waters ,and flowers.
Loved the hammock right outside the door , along with the chairs and tables , all arranged in a way which makes it really comfortable to hang outside ,,,,the doors all open easily out onto the outside areas too, making the entire space feel very open and breezy, the garden and pool area is all enclosed with trees , flowers , rocks ,and fern covered walls, lovely!
The decor is beautiful , statues everywhere ,the huge one in the window is magnificent! The kitchen area is perfect for making a coffee or tea, all organized if you want to cook as well, which I didn't because there are soooooo many great resturants to choose from everywhere.
Ketut will be there to help with luggage down the path ,so make sure to call him,and he's there everyday along with Wayan to help with any questions ,they were very kind.
I enjoyed every minute of my time spent here ,in this little magical haven, and If I get to visit UBUD in the future , I would most most definitely stay there again,,,,only much longer!!!!
Light , and blessings
I LOVE Bali. It was my first trip to Bali/Ubud and it won't be my last. I can say the same for Susan's villa. In fact, staying in this villa probably was half the charm of my holiday if you can believe that. It's perfect for one or a couple, even friends, and is of perfect distance away from Ubud center (I don't know why anyone would want to stay in the center anyway, you just go there to shop). It is by no means far, 5 mins (email hidden) part about it's location is being a 2 minute walk from Alchemy and their breakfast and salad bar. I'm quite a city girl so my first night, the natures sounds made me feel like I was in the dead of the jungle, but I appreciated it after the second night and the mosquito netting not only keeps the bugs out, but it makes sleeping rather elegant. The villa is small but you don't need anything bigger, why would you want to stay indoors in Bali? The salt water pool is absolutely lovely and warm and the yard gets plenty of sun so you don't miss the beach at all. There is a lovely terrace with a hammock that I was able to spend lots of time working at on my computer (like when it rained) and having some wine at in the evening. The bathroom is outdoors and showering outdoors is a special experience. I met both Susan and Ketut, who was SO kind and helped with everything I needed. Picked both me and my friend up at the airport and dropped us off at different arrival and departure times, which must have been annoying. Susan herself was very flexible, accommodating, and communicative. Overall the villa was so lovely I wish I owned it myself, and it might inspire me to do the same. Thank you Susan and Ketut!
Great position however it was very very hard to find at first and took ages! I would recommend to get an actual address or talk to Ketut before because there is no villa name/sign. If you are being dropped to the villa i recommend saying it is behind bubu warang - that seemed to help us a bit
In theory Susan's house is great - good position in a village very close to Ubud (walkable) setup and layout was great as well.. but there was no air con (as listed) which lead to windows having to be open and that lead to real bug problem.
The outdoor bathroom was unreal - we loved it! Very cool, water was nice and hot and the pressure was good.
Pool and garden area was well kept and very relaxing, had a real 'ubud atmosphere' that was very peaceful
The wifi was very good!
Villa is very comfortable situated. Its very calm and has fascinating morning view on rice field!
The rooms very nice and cozy, stuff makes a clean every day.
We had a VERY good dreams there:)
The kitchen is not very big but has all equipments
and good big fridge.
At the and famous Balinese soundtrack:
Geeeeeeckoooo geeeckoooooo geeeeeckoooo
We really loved our stay at this villa - perfectly decorated inside and good walking distance from ubud centre - just far away enough from the hussle and bussle but still close enough to restaurants and shops.
highly recommended. Only gripe would be the neighbouring villa's 2nd floor looks directly over the fence and into the "private" pool.
Still we'd go back here - staff was excellent.
Susan entered my life like a ray of sunshine 2 years ago, and since that moment we have been friends, neighbors and colleagues, and I continue to be amazed and graced by her kindness, tolerance, generosity, fun and easy-going sweet nature. It has been one of those friendships that moved into high gear immediately; we met in an intensive learning situation, then worked together and became neighbors in a 3rd world country, single women working on contracts and construction issues. Needless to say we have been faced with many challenges, and she has proven herself as a dependable patient and stabilizing force. I have also spent time with her in Australia, what fun we had! Susan is one of those rare people whose very presence acts like a gentle, soothing breeze for those around her, she is a treasure.
