I am a musician, producer and jazz promoter. I live between Rome and New York City working in the music field as freelance. I love music, good movies and basketball and I like to travel.
Amazing little place. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant and the apartment is very well equipped, clean and close enough to services and transportation that I would happily stay there again.
Francesco and Gabriella have been welcoming, helpful and generous.
Lovely appartement! Very cozy and charming indeed, a very nice host and a perfect communication. We arrived very late and Gabi even offered us a little tour in the neighbourhood.
The place is really quiet and cool and from there it's a nice walk to almost everywhere!
Don't forget to walk to the Pamphili Park for a lazy sunday! Thanks again for the tip, Gabi! We really loved it!
we stayed there 5 nights and found it a great place to be. since rome is such a lively city, it's great to have a cozy place to recover. we didnt meet francesco since he was on the road. but gabi was there on our first day to welcome us. she was really sweet and uncomplicated. the apartement is tasteful furnished and appointed with everything one needs. it is situated in a calm street. the tram is 5 minutes away. trastevere station maybe 7 minutes. it's a 20 minutes walk to trastevere. there is also a supermarket around the corner.
we really enjoyed it and recommend this need little apartement to everyone who wants to have a great time in rome.
Wonderful and quiet apartment in a cozy neighborhood. Very easy access to central Rome via Metrobus 8. Heartily recommended.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful city, in the pretty, quiet part of Trastevere but on the brink of where the life is: a perfect setting for a couple like us. A lovely kitchen, perfect for a stay that is a bit longer, a supermarket and everything you might need in 3 minutes: make your own haute cuisine menu every evening. With those products, it's easy..
The only thing that might need to be mentioned: it's a quiet little street, but just mention Via Alessandro Poerio to the taxi driver and you'll be fine: one of the most beautiful streets in Rome. Bus 75 stops there too: we found it simply wonderful that a mundane thing like waiting for a bus became such a beautiful thing: we did our waiting in front of the Colosseum..and that very bus took us right to a wonderful little source of peace and quiet which we could call our own. And if it's needed, you can just walk there from the other side of the Tevere; if you've been walking around all day, a nice walk home is no problem at all. :)
Going back to Fiumicino is very easy using the nearby Trastevere train station, although sometimes Italian transportation could be a bit moody simetimes.
Gabi was as good a host as she could be: very nice, explaining us everything we needed and there when we needed her. Our next trip to Rome (and it WILL be happening since we threw coins into the Trevi fountain - it was on the internet so it must be true!) we will be glad to stay there again.
All in all: if you want luxury in front of the Spanish steps, don't take this. If you want charm and the spirit of what Rome is really like: this is the place for you. You have all you need.
Until next time, Gabi! And thank you Francesco!
What a wonderful little apartment!
We stayed at Francesco´s apt for one week and had a wonderful time in Rome.
The flat is absolutely clean and classy furnished.
The rainy whether couldn´t do us much since we enjoyed staying and relaxing at home.
Gabi and Francesco were very kind and helpful.
There´s is not much more to say than: "take this for your stay" :-)
Hope we come back one day.
All the best
This is a really nice and comfortable flat in one of the friendliest neighbourhoods of Rome. It's in a calm street a short walk from Trastevere, where there is a weekly flee market, many small restaurants and has a great atmosphere. There is a tram that takes you to the city center.
Gabi and Francesco were very sweet and flexible, the flat has everything, including a nice kitchen.
Thanks, we had a wonderful time!
We loved staying at Francesco's apartment in Monteverde. The apartment is a great place to stay especially if you are going to be in Rome for a while. It is south of Trastevere, in Monteverde Vecchio, a quiet and lovely residential neighborhood, with easy access to the center via Tram 8 which runs up and down the Viale Trastevere very frequently. They are currently doing some construction on that line so check on the transportation updates because it might run as a bus while they are extending the line. The bus #75 is also very close and will take you up to via Cavour in the center, and the stazione trastevere is only a 5 or 10 minute walk downhill to make excursions. Francesco was always quick to respond and helpful, and Gabriella was wonderful and showed us around when we first got into town to make us familiar with the neighborhood. We would love to go back to Francesco's if we returned to Rome.
A perfect little apartment in a genuinely friendly, quiet and authentic neighborhood containing a daily outdoor market with fresh produce of all sorts, restaurants, farmacy, cornershop, supermarket and more. 8 minute walk to tram or 3 minutes to bus that takes you directly to the city center or to Trastevere. (The tram leaves every 4 minutes!) or hop on the train located 10 minutes from the apartment to go to the beach. I loved staying here for two months and can´t wait to go back and enjoy another pot-luck party or view a football match by projector in the court yard together with the splendid neighbors! I highly recommend Francesco´s apartment to anyone looking for the Italian way.
