Overall I was quite disappointed with this place after seeing the positive reviews for some of the other villas Nikita hosts.
- There is quite bad mould and rot in the walls inside the ground level bedroom and outside the villa.
- The pool was absolutely disgusting, full of algae. The pool cleaner turned up on the first day to put chlorine in and get the leaves out, he said he would be back a few times during our stay but never came back until day 14 which was the day before we checked out.
- The villa was cleaned ONCE in the entire time, mid way through the stay.
- The area was extremely loud all day and night with a rooster wakeup call before dawn every morning.
All of that was annoying, but the worst thing was the power to the villa. It is a prepaid system and the host constantly let it run out. Every 2 days the system would start beeping most of the time in the middle of the night. It is loud enough to wake you and keep you awake each time. By the end of our stay he couldn't even be bothered to come to put money on it and asked me to go to the electricity department for him!!!
The only pros for this villa are the price and the location is reasonable.
Would I recommend this place to a friend? NO absolutely not.
It was really great!
Thanks Khatuna! I really tried to do my best!
This place is actually a small guesthouse/hotel called “Arena House” one street back of Jalan legian. It is actually hard to find – the street it is off is actually very narrow street called Jalan Bunut Sari. The location is about 1 km from the beach. It is not right in the middle of everything in Legian but close enough, especially if you hire a motorbike. If you had a little more money I would recommend staying a little to the beach but for a budget option this place is good.
The owner of the hotel is a very nice Balinese man and the other staff (Jonny) were friendly.
The room was ok. It had air-conditioning and satellite tv. The bathroom was a bit average though and not as good as the rest of the room. (No fan and a bit cheap)
Overall a pleasant stay although I did not spend much time in the hotel (only sleeping) mainly because of the location and there is nothing else really to do there.
Good trip in Balangan, its a nice and peaceful place. Nikita is a kind person and trustful. The hotel staff in Balangan garden is helpful and the hotel itself is a beautiful place.
try it, you would like it.
Stayed couple of days in Nikita's villa and really enjoyed his accomodation. The villa looked exactly like on the pictures and time to the beach was the same as he put in the description. Really nice and open person you can trust.
