We are two young writers / artists / world travelers living in Cobble Hill. We're gone a lot and love the hospitality of being welcomed into someone else's home... So we decided to invite other people into ours by using Air BnB.

We originally inquired for a stay at Becky and Mary for ourselves and my in-laws, as all of us were coming from out of town for a wedding. When we realized the place could not fit 5 of us, my in-laws ended up getting their own place. Becky was very nice on emails and on day of arrival, after traveling 12 hours transatlantic, I was told on a very cold tone by Mary that checking time was 3pm. When I insisted she let us in earlier as we had nowhere to go, she agreed to let us in at 2pm. We arrived at the flat and Mary was there to gives us the keys. I was surprised after seeing nice reviews that the flat was dirty. There dust on all shelves, desks and tables but I didnt say anything. Mary and Becky had a House Rules document on their kitchen table written in small fonts and it said among other things that they have a detailed inventory of every single item in their flat and that if one of them was missing, they would know about it. That was a nice welcome! I have been staying in many Airbnbs but never read such unwelcoming and cold warning. on the day before we left, the toilet overflowed and I had to spend the day in communication with a plumber which Becky swiftly ordered. When we toured the flat, Mary did not mention anything about their toilet being 'sensitive'. It's hard to know how you;re supposed to treat a sensitive bathroom... avoid Indian food maybe? In any case, they were very quick to call on the plumber who came at the end of the day. In the meantime, we had to go to a neighboring restaurant to use the toilet. Right after our stay, after I mentioned to Mary that their place was dirty, I received a very strange email telling me that a tax document was misplaced and that we had broken things and clogged their bathroom. We were the ones who dealt with a dirty flat and a clogged bathroom, and now we were accused of wrongdoings...I decided to leave it as it is, and not write any review about their flat and move on with my life.
My reviews clearly show we take good care of the places we stay at and clearly, I would warn anyone to stay at Becky and Mary.
Becky and Mary were excellent hosts! I live near their place in Brooklyn, and I needed extra space for my family to stay while they were visiting me. Their apartment is just as gorgeous and clean as the photographs, and my family really enjoyed staying in the Cobble Hill area of Brooklyn. My favorite neighborhood in all of New York, but of course I'm biased because I live here too! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here, and I would love to have my family stay here again. Thanks Becky & Mary!
My boyfriend and I rented this flat for a long weekend. It was perfect. The pictures make it look like it may be a bit cozy or small, but it is not. The size of the place is incredible. The windows allow a lot of gorgeous sun into the space and really open it up. The neighborhood is incredible. There are many wonderful restaurants, cafes and bars to enjoy and everything is very easy to navigate! I recommend walking down to Mazzola Bakery for fresh breads / bagels to have during your stay. I would recommend this place to any and everyone looking for an authentic brooklyn stay.
Their place is absolutely beautiful and conveniently located. Becky and Mary left a kind and helpful welcome note, recommendations for things in the area, and detailed notes about the apartment (wifi access, etc). The photo gallery wall alone was enough to keep guests occupied all weekend, and any hosts who provide both Grey Gardens and Waiting for Guffman are going above and beyond. We have bookmarked their place and hope to stay there on future visits!
Thanks for the lovely review and for being such great guests! Hope that the sing-along (it was a sing-along, wasn't it?) went well :) Be in touch if you're back in New York next year!
Becky and Mary were excellent hosts! Their apartment was very clean, cozy, and comfortable and they were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again and woud recommend their place to friends or family.
Thanks Stephanie! We loved having you stay - thanks for leaving the place in such great shape and we really hope you had a great time in Brooklyn!

My son and I stayed at Mary and Beckys for 5 nights recently, leaving New Years day 2013. We met with Mary for the key exchange after exchanging emails and mary was very generous with her time in arranging to return from her break to meet us and provide the key and general information Mary also encouraged me to call her for any problems which may have arisen , down to finding out good places to eat or shop. We didnt need to do this as the area was central and offerred many great resteraunts ,delis and shopping experiences which were a delight to discover on foot. Taxis were plentiful in the area and subway provided an easy and quick link to (email hidden)ooklyn was a relaxing alternate to Manhattan and an easy area to kick back and perhaps even feel less of a tourist in a short period of time. The apartment was warm, inviting and cosy The bathroom provided a shower/bath and plumbing did not let us down. I would definately recommend Mary and Beckys apartment, loved the location and the area gave a feeling of being safe and offering all the benefits of a big city .Thanks mary and Becky I would def use apartment on return to NYC
Mary and Becky not only generously opened their home to our family, they actually went above and beyond in synchronizing the timing of the check-in so we could make this last-minute booking work. I am so, so grateful! Their home is lovely, spotless, totally straightforward, filled with light and in a super neighborhood that allowed us to explore a lot of Brooklyn while easily accessing Manhattan. If there was any way for them to make my airbnb experience easier, I can't think of what it is. Thank you so much Mary and Becky!!
Becky and Mary were the perfect hosts, made picking up the keys a brezze and even had a super helpful and detailed one pager about their place and the neighborhood (very pro).
Their place is homey and very clean with lots of space for a Brooklyn apt. Nice and sunny with a little patio (jealous).
Would definitely recommend both their great apt and awesome attitudes!
Mary and Becky were a friendly and tidy couple. I would welcome them in my home at any time!

Becky and Mary wre great guests. Happy, friendly, easygoing and cleaned the chalet properly on leaving. Recommended.
Becky and Mary stayed only 2 nights and it was really very short! I would like to spend more time with them, as they are two lovely young ladies.... I liked them very much! They were quiet and tidy, always smiling, and when they went they left the apartment in good conditions. So I can recommend them without hesitation!

We enjoyed hosting Becky and Mary. They were considerate and easy going and we would welcome them back.
I've known Mary for a few years and Becky just recently. Both are incredible women: loving, creative, and easy-going. If that isn't enough, Becky is a top notch lasagna cook. Mary and I have driven across country together on a writerly photo project, shared many a bourbon, and even briefly worked together under trying circumstances. I love them both.
