We had the best time at sugar shack! It's such a great getaway. Scott and Linda are amazing hosts and provide you with all the info you need to enjoy your trip. Their garden is beautiful and so well thought out. The kitchen has everything you need and their granola is unbelievably delicious! I loved it there and will definitely come back.
What an amazing experience! I have been to Big Sur atleast 5 times, but this was certainly the best place I've found to stay thus far. The accommodations were private, and so quaint and beautiful. It's the perfect mix of rustic with modern luxuries. The bed is HEAVENLY, and you wake up feeling refreshed and surrounded by nature! You can walk to Pfieffer Beach in 15-20 minutes, and see the beautiful sunset.
Will definitely be returning here whenever I come back to Big Sur. WOW!!!
We had a fantastic stay at the Sugar Shack! We got there just in time to catch the sunset on the beach and spent a wonderful day on the trails. Thank you so much to Scott and Linda for their hospitality and for sharing their beautiful space with us. We can't wait to come back very soon!
We had a great stay in the cozy and beautiful sugar shack. We will be back for sure.
We had a fantastic stay at the Sugar Shack! My sister and I were down from San Francisco just for a few days to hike and enjoy Big Sur. The Sugar Shack was absolutely perfect. It's in a gorgeous area right in Big Sur and is close to great hiking, beaches, and some good places to eat (like Big Sur bakery!). Hosts were friendly and helpful and even left some yogurt and granola for us. The property is beautiful. We didn't want to leave! Highly recommended. Already looking forward to getting back!
Awesome experience and a lovely escape. The Sugar Shack was the perfect weekend getaway!! Close to the beach, beautiful hikes, and great food. And to top it off- kind and gracious hosts. We would love to come back some day.
We had the most magical time at the Sugar Shack. Linda and Scott were so welcoming when we arrived and provided us with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. The Shack itself is charming and clean and surrounded by the most incredible nature. The perfect little landing pad after a long day of hiking. I highly recommend it, and can't wait to come back for another stay!
Our experience in Bug Sur was unlike the stories of others because we were caught in the middle of a Huge storm the whole weekend we were there (this definitely made the outdoor kitchen a real adventure!). HOWEVER... This is is the place you want to be in through it all. Scott's property has an energy that truly reminds you of your roots in nature. An energy that he and his wife have cultivated. Rain or shine, this is the real Big Sur experience. We will be back to see the sun.
The Sugar Shack was the perfect home during our stay in Big Sur. We were running a bit late from a late lunch in San Luis Obispo, so had to navigate in the dark through the dirt road to the property, but Linda and Scott's instructions were impeccable. They were also super accommodating upon our arrival. They also provided us with a lot of great dining and hiking information. We would definitely come back!
Our hosts were gracious and welcoming but also allowed us privacy to enjoy their beautiful space. Everything was as described/pictured. We loved drinking coffee on the porch as the sun warmed up the canyon in the morning. The kitchen is basic but efficient. We did a little food prep at home and enjoyed eating healthy home-cooked food all weekend.
The location is ideal. The Sugar Shack was the perfect jumping off point for day hikes in Andrew Molera and Pico Blanco. We visited Esalen, Ventana, and Nepenthe, all just a short drive down the Highway. We had an amazing time in Big Sur!
Scott is my brother-in-law of almost 40 years and for 2/3 of that time he has been under the spell of Big Sur--working to preserve and/or improve the natural beauty of what is surely one of the most incredible pieces of coastline on earth. Fortunately for the rest of us, now that he and his wife Linda have a home in Sycamore Canyon they've made available a meticulously maintained guest rental that offers complete privacy but easy access to the canyon and the beach. Its like staying in a fabulous tree house for grown ups. Thanks for sharing, Scott and Linda.
The Parkers are the most wonderful people you can meet. Linda is very knowledgeable about the area and meticulous about every detail and Scott transformed the property into the piece of heaven that it is. They have carved themselves a piece of heaven on earth! I feel privileged to know them and highly recommend this property.
Hello! I know Scott as my awesome brother-in-law, who is very easy going. We enjoyed our privacy and one of the most comfy beds I've slept in. You can walk down to Pfeiffer Beach and visit the horses on the way. Take in the fresh air and cool ocean breeze. Scott & Linda are the best concierge's in Big Sur as they know the area well and can suggest places to go and the best restaurants around. Great place to get away to!
