This place was great! Scott and Linda have a fantastic garden, and it was very restful to just spend time on the patio taking in the view. The bed was very comfortable as was the rest of the shack. It's so close to lots of great hikes, and the bakery down the road has some delicious pastries and coffee. I highly recommend staying here!
Upon arrival at the Sugar Shack, Linda was warm and welcoming, showing us all the thoughtful touches she and Scott have included to make guests feel at home. The setting is exactly as I was hoping for...quiet, tucked up amongst the trees. The view from the deck made me feel like I had entered a forest and I loved watching the butterflies and hummingbirds that came to visit. We made sure to check out a few of Linda & Scott's favorite restaurants and they were spot on for what we were looking for. The "shack" is comfy and well-stocked if you just want to hunker down and do some serious relaxing between days of exploring. My favorite was the easy walk to and from Pfieffer Beach. I could have stayed there all day, soaking in the natural beauty. I am already checking my calendar to figure out when I can get back to the Sugar Shack!
What an incredible experience staying at the Sugar Shack! Being from Florida, we could not in our wildest dreams have imagined the scenic accommodations we had here. Beautiful, clean, quiet, and private. Once we arrived we only left to watch the sunset on the beach (15 minute walk) and to continue heading south on our Pacific Coast Highway trip. Scott was very helpful when we arrived and overall we just loved our stay! PS- must try the granola and apples, amazing!!
Scott was very welcoming and helpful when we first arrived, but allowed us the privacy we were seeking. Loved our time at the Sugar Shack.
This place is such a gem. If you're looking for a peaceful and tranquil respite look no further. It is such an honor and privilege to stay at this place. My favorite part of the trip (other than the super restful sleep that I got there) was that the host gave me fresh organic veggies from the garden to juice and eat. Love. Thank you so so much.
What a truly memorable and relaxing experience! Sugar Shack is an idyllic getaway in a tranquil setting surrounded by mountains and trees allowing you to truly escape and disconnect. The location is ideal for those looking to see all Big Sur has to offer. From hiking trails, to Pfeiffer Beach, to spots along iconic Highway 1, Sugar Shack is close to it all while still remaining a hidden gem. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating providing us with all we needed for our stay. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The Sugar Shack was exactly what we were looking for to start out our honeymoon. The serenity and quiet of our time there was very precious to us. The shack was so quaint and the perfect home away from home. Scott and Linda were the perfect hosts; providing a warm welcome and wonderful suggestions, as well as respecting privacy. Watching the sunset on Pfeffier Beach and hiking Partington (a fantastic suggestion) were highlights of our trip. We can't wait to come back!
Gracious hosts, beautiful setting, lovely accommodations. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Staying at Sugar Shack must be what heaven feels like. Scott and Linda were warm and welcoming and had some great suggestions for us for hikes, but also gave us total privacy in our temporary paradise. Really could not have been more perfect. The pictures they post do not give the space justice, so you just have to come and see for yourself.
The Sugar Shack was wonderful and as so many have described. We had an amazing weekend there. Thanks
Scott is my brother-in-law of almost 40 years and for 2/3 of that time he has been under the spell of Big Sur--working to preserve and/or improve the natural beauty of what is surely one of the most incredible pieces of coastline on earth. Fortunately for the rest of us, now that he and his wife Linda have a home in Sycamore Canyon they've made available a meticulously maintained guest rental that offers complete privacy but easy access to the canyon and the beach. Its like staying in a fabulous tree house for grown ups. Thanks for sharing, Scott and Linda.
The Parkers are the most wonderful people you can meet. Linda is very knowledgeable about the area and meticulous about every detail and Scott transformed the property into the piece of heaven that it is. They have carved themselves a piece of heaven on earth! I feel privileged to know them and highly recommend this property.
Hello! I know Scott as my awesome brother-in-law, who is very easy going. We enjoyed our privacy and one of the most comfy beds I've slept in. You can walk down to Pfeiffer Beach and visit the horses on the way. Take in the fresh air and cool ocean breeze. Scott & Linda are the best concierge's in Big Sur as they know the area well and can suggest places to go and the best restaurants around. Great place to get away to!
