Juliette's apartment was in a great location close to shops, subway and great places to eat and drink. The apartment itself was quite generous with plenty of space for us to cook our Christmas feast. The additional wifi and cable tv made our stay even more comfortable as we could relax after a long day of sight seeing.
Location, location, location! Super convenient to the A,C,E, L trains (literally steps!) and easy cab rides to most places. 2nd floor walkup, so not bad, even for those of us who may not be used to stairs on a regular basis.
Comfortable bed, clean linens, nice shower, plenty of space. Having a kitchen while staying in the city is a bonus. Would definitely stay here on a return trip and highly recommend it to others.
Oh, and Juliette is very responsive to emails/texts, very easy to work with.
Though I haven't met Juliette in person, per our message communication, I feel she is a nice person. Juliette has been very accommodating to our requests and responses to my questions very timely for most of the time. As to the place, I have mixed feelings. Here's my list of the pros and cons that we've experienced.
These points have been covered very well by previous reviews. So I'll be brief.
* Primary and extremely convenient location in a residential area.
* Quiet bedroom and comfortable bed.
* Fully functioning kitchen.
* Bathroom could use some work to improve its sanitary condition. The shower curtain has plenty of black area like mold spots.
* The shoe racks over the doors leave less space for passing. We weren't so bothered by the bedroom door, but the bathroom entrance is very annoying. (Of course, maybe not everyone is bother by rubbing against some high heels every time one walks by.)
* There's little shelf/storage space for guests to use. There's even too little room to hang the bath towels properly.
* I was also surprised by the cleanup I was asked to do (such as putting away used towers and sheets) given the $100 cleaning fee charged.
All the cons may or may not be a big deal, and I figured it's helpful for others to know when considering this place.
A great apartment in a great location! Juliette is a perfect host. She was flexible and accessible....no complaints! I will definitely rent from her again.
October is my favorite month and New York is my favorite city. To complete this trifecta would require staying in the right location. Juliette's apartment accomplished this. Located on West 15th near 8th Ave., it is only one block from Chelsea Market and a short walk to the village. Literally at 40 meters from the entrance to the A,C,E and L lines, you are minutes from everywhere. Her place was comfortable and cozy offering a convenient respite from activities of the day. The beds were comfortable for us and for our daughter and son-in-law who stayed in the sofa-bed. Juliette was quite helpful with instructions relating to the apartments and suggestions on nearby attractions. Despite its proximity, the street itself is in relatively quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay there again.
Juliette's place was perfect for our 3-night stay in New York. She went out of her way to coordinate a smooth check-in, was very communicative throughout, and is a very pleasant and friendly host. The location of the apartment is perfect... just a few subway stops from where our bus from DC dropped us in Times Square, and close to lots of coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. We were four people so made use of the sofa bed, which was surprisingly comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
Really good location right next to a subway station. Host was very informative and helpful in letting us in and overall an excellent experience
Great place, fantastic location, lovely host! Juliette was easy to communicate with and the apartment is clean, comfortable, close to the subway, and within walking distance of most of downtown. Spacious living/dining room. Juliette was out of town when we arrived but she arranged for somone to let us in.
I was very happy to have such a professional and worldly individual as Juliette as a guest. She was clean, pleasant, friendly and interested. I can greatly recommend her to any host.
A nice and reliable person; it has been a pleasure to have her! The communication between us was clear and precise, and everything worked as planned.
Juliette is one of the moxt exceptional human beings i've ever met. An ivy-league graduate, she's travelled the world, and experienced the most exotic locales/cuisines/culture. Working in the Art world, she travels extensively both for work and pleasure, and while away, rents her beautiful Chelsea apartment. The apartment itself is a reflection of Juliette: Charming, Beautiful, Artsy, with lots of personality, and most importantly, at the center of it all: You can't get a better location: It's in the heart of Chelsea, within steps from the world's most established Art Galleries. It's also a stone's throw away from New York's Nighlife epicenter, the Meat Packing district. The trendy Cafes and glamourous boutiques of the West Village are all within walking distance.
If you're visiting New York to experience the epitome of its Art, Fashion and Nighlife scenes, this place is for you! I highly recomend it.
