I am originally French, living in New York for the last 10 years, and working for a contemporary art gallery. I speak French, Spanish, German, and English, and am an avid traveller!

This apartment is truly spacious and not a bait and switch. It is well
located and near all the subways and eateries and the famous and trendy
meatpacking district. For you lovers of art and literacy-- there is plenty
to observe in the apartment and of good taste -- classy clients will be
pleased. We would have like more closet, bedroom and refrigerator space. I
think this is just something you can request and should make clear. Overall
the apartment was pleasant and the renter very responsive especially for
any follow up issues. Also the renter refunded our security and cleaning
deposit and stated the apartment was left in good condition. This is
someone trustworthy and reliable-- This is good value for your money if you
want to be in Chelsea.
Juliette was very kind. She showed us the basics of the house, and made sure that we were provided with clean towels and sheets. The house is very comfortable for friends to stay (we were 2 couples visiting the town for thanksgiving, and had separate rooms to sleep). It is very nicely decorated and has a cozy-local feeling. The library is quite impressive. Only the fact that you have to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom might be problematic for 2+ groups who would prefer higher privacy.
The location of the house is perfect to explore Greenwich Village, West Village, Gallery District, much hyped High Line, Chelsea, Meatpacking, Soho and Christopher street without any transportation. There s a subway station literally next door which connects to the blue line (very convenient for west side transportation) and L train which takes you straight into Bedford Avenue and greater Broooklyn. We had a friend who was visiting the town for the first time and she enjoyed the spot very much for its convenience. The dining and brunch options around the neighborhood never disappointed us, and we won't hesitate to stay at Juliette's place another time.
The apartment is spacious and very well located; however we noticed that the general state of cleanness of the apartment was unacceptable.
Some parts of the apartment were particularly dirty:
The kitchen stove and oven had grease stains and food all over it.
There was food leftovers on the kitchen's sink.
The refrigerator had spills and stains inside.
She didn't take out the garbage prior to our arrival.
She provided us with clean bedding, but she left the dirty ones on.
The bathroom sink was clogged.
The shower curtain were anti-hygienic, as well as the bathroom rug.
The toilet was dirty, and it had anti-hygienic stains.
There was a significant amount of dust all over the furniture. Among others...
We tried to clean the apartment ourselves but the work was too much. We complained to Juliette about it. The first time (over the phone) she said we just had "different cleaning standards"... So next we complained through the AirBnB page. There she agreed to send someone over to have the apartment cleaned.
We arrived Thursday morning and the apartment was cleaned Friday afternoon... After the cleaning everything was OK.
Juliette's apartment is in a great location, so easy to get around the city and all it has offer with the A, C, E and L trains practically at the doorstep and the 1,2,3 trains less than a block away. Easy to get a cab whenever you need one and close enough to walk around the best areas of Manhattan; Chelsea, Meatpacking, West Village and Soho. We stayed in the apartment for three months and felt at home and Juliette responded quickly with any queries we had. We would stay here again on our next visit to New York without a doubt. LOVED our stay! Thank You Juliette :- )
I stayed for 6 weeks in Juliette's apartment. The place was really great, super furnished, and perfect location. Juliette, although travelling abroad, was always available and helpful whenever I needed her.
I was very happy to have such a professional and worldly individual as Juliette as a guest. She was clean, pleasant, friendly and interested. I can greatly recommend her to any host.
A nice and reliable person; it has been a pleasure to have her! The communication between us was clear and precise, and everything worked as planned.
Juliette is one of the moxt exceptional human beings i've ever met. An ivy-league graduate, she's travelled the world, and experienced the most exotic locales/cuisines/culture. Working in the Art world, she travels extensively both for work and pleasure, and while away, rents her beautiful Chelsea apartment. The apartment itself is a reflection of Juliette: Charming, Beautiful, Artsy, with lots of personality, and most importantly, at the center of it all: You can't get a better location: It's in the heart of Chelsea, within steps from the world's most established Art Galleries. It's also a stone's throw away from New York's Nighlife epicenter, the Meat Packing district. The trendy Cafes and glamourous boutiques of the West Village are all within walking distance.
If you're visiting New York to experience the epitome of its Art, Fashion and Nighlife scenes, this place is for you! I highly recomend it.
