We had a lovely and peaceful getaway in Cornwall, Stephanie's place is close to the sea so we were able to walk there, and with a car we managed to see more of Cornwall, such as Land's End, Penzance and Sennen. Stephanie and Sean were lovely and accommodating, Sean brought back meat from his work for us, and he and my boyfriend had good chats about rowing and Stephanie helped trim my hair! Their place was comfortable and clean, and we loved the cat!
The house in St Just was lovely and Stephanie and Shaun were very friendly and helpful. Stephanie met us at the station, they provided us with a very nice breakfast including bacon from Shaun's butchers and gave us helpful advice and tips about the area. They live in an old miners cottage, which is very comfy and welcoming, with a lovely patio with lots of flowers and (website hidden) Just is a beautiful part of Cornwall and we loved the walks around St Just and along the coastal path which has amazing views of the cliffs, coves and ruins from the old mines. We didn't have a car, but we managed to get around and visit other places by bus, which was not a problem most days, aside from Sundays when the service is not very frequent.
I liked staying with Stephanie and Shaun very much. They were very friendly and helpful and let me join their evening activities, which I appreciated a lot. Also they provided Cerial for breakfast, which was very (website hidden). Just is a nice place to explore Cornwall, without beeing very touristy. You can get there easily by taking the bus from Penzance.
The room is small, but has a very comfortable bed with lots of pillows and clean and fresh bedding. I recommend staying at Stephanie's because they give you a lot of space for your own but allow you to have a nice chat with them.
Thank you for having me,
We had a fantastic time at Stephanie and Shaun's cottage - St Just and the surrounding coastline is beautiful! We were made to feel incredibly welcome and at home in their charming cottage - we would highly recommend a visit! Super friendly and super relaxed made a perfect trip. For any meat eaters Shaun's cured bacon was worth a stay alone - mind blowing!!!
Had a great stay in St Just. Stef and Sean were welcoming and friendly, with lots of good advice for things to do in the local area.
The house was as described - well presented and cosy. The room was quite small but we knew that in advance from previous reviews so not a problem at all - just worthy of note in case you want a big room for some reason...
Sean is a butcher and we were fortunate enough to be given lots of goodies from his meat fridge which was a highlight for us as there are lots of good BBQ spots nearby! Hope to visit again!
Very helpful and friendly hosts. The cottage is beautiful and very clean, and perfectly located. Shaun and Stefanie were brilliant at introducing us to local activities, especially in the evenings, and very considerate hosts. Really enjoyable stay. The only slightly negative point is that the double bed is small.
We spent 3 lovely nights with Stef and Shaun. They were friendly, easy to talk to and interesting people. Abhi got a bad sunburn and Stef was very helpful in providing cream and helpful information on pharmacy etc. She even texted later to check on us, which very nice of her. The cottage is as described and very well decorated and cozy. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and Stef and Shaun had eggs and bread available. They also introduced us to "builders tea, " which is now our (website hidden). Just is a lovely town and a great base to explore St. Ives, Sennen, Land's End, Mousehole, Minack theatre etc. We had a fantastic weekend and highly recommend staying with Stef and Shaun.
We were visiting Cornwall on a road trip by motorbike. We decided to stop one night in st just as it is nice place with strategic location.
Stef and Shaun were perfect host, gentle and helpful! The 22 years old cat was so quiet and sweet.
Overall, nice place, clean and great bacon produced and offered by Shaun!
Me and my husband spent two nights at Stephanie ´s cozy house. The room is small but enough if you need just comfortable bed to sleep. Stephanie and Shaun are nice and helpfull. They let you make yourself comfortable in their house. In the morning we could prepare breakfast in Stephanie´s nice kitchen. It was the only time when their cute cat paid attantion to us:) rest of the time she was sleeping on a sofa in living room.
We liked that place and would recommentd to others.
Every Monday folk music in pub "Star" :)
My sister and I stayed 3 nights at Stephanie´s and Shaun`s beautiful cottage in the center of the lovely village of St. Just. I wish, we would have had more time. They both are very helpful and approachable for anything we needed. Stephanie is a big art lover and knows everything about Celtic stones in the area. Shaun is a very sportive butcher who offered us the most amazing fresh ham I ever had in my life to taste for breakfast.
The room isn´t really big, but very bright and quiet with a window leading to the garden. The bed is very comfortable and we were served a luxury hotel breakfast at their lovely, newly renovated kitchen. They kept parts of the old, stony wall even in the bathroom. They have a lovely traditional Cornish living room with two very comfortable sofas to relax on. They live in an old cottage which was completely redone very carefully. Their over 20 year old cat Chip is super easy going for such an old "lady" and very sweet.
The coastal footpath is only some walking minutes away, so is the city center. Do the hiking path from from Cape Cornwall to Sennen Cove and relax on the beautiful, white sandy beach. There are buses back. They do a big summer festival there once a year, worth visiting for live music lovers.
We will be back!
