Situated in a very quiet village near Auxerre, we stayed at Linda's for one night. And although we booked somewhat late, she gave us a warm and homely welcome.
We had some nice conversations, her tips for diner were good and the breakfast was superb.
When we are in the area again, we will certainly try to meet her again.
This cottage is fine for a single night, or two at the most, as it is by nature somewhere you would stop at on the way to another destination. The greeting was warm, and we were provided with bread and croissants on the first morning of our stay.
Unfortunately, it is really only suitable for a couple or single guest, as the lounge, which doubles as a second bedroom, is damp and cold, and gets little natural light. We did not feel particularly welcome to use the table and chairs outside, which were not near the cottage but by the owner's section of the property - this could definitely be improved.
The owner seems to lack the most up to date knowledge of the local area, and the meager selection of books and maps of the area were either seriously out of date or inadequate for the price we were paying - particularly in relation to other examples of residences and guest houses advertised on airbnb.
Linda is a very charming and helpful person. The house is as it looks like: very idyl, cute and small. Linda lives in her house, next to this one, on the same premises. The village is really small, with not much stores, but the surroundings are beautiful, the town of Auxerre is really nice. We had a great and relaxing stay!
Charming converted farm house with loads of character. Had a very relaxing stay here at the start of our trip around France, perfect spot to recover from jet lag in a peaceful setting. Linda was lovely and very helpful as we orientated ourselves. Would stay again given the opportunity.
We chose Burgundy Idyl for our holiday and winetasting in Bourgogne and we could not have chosen something better. The owner, Linda, is a delicious person, she makes the impossible to let you feel like at home. The house is a real dolls-house, so cute, very clean, gourgeously designed and incredibly equipped. Linda gives you every day special advice about restaurant, wines, place to visit: she is a real gourmand! We spent a wonderful time also thanks to Linda and her care. The small town is perfect to stay in peace and silence, go around Burgundy and the nearest city, Auxerre, is really nice and well furnished of all services. Thanks again Linda. Elena, Giandomenico and Zoe.
Very caring landlady, beautifull housing two floors. Bed at second floor needs new mattresses and is too small for two adults. Two adults should use the sofa (sleep sofa) at the first floor. For dinner or lunch go to Auxerre. There are many different possibilities, especially if you travel with kids.
