A long time San Francisco and Glen Park resident.
Dana's cottage is a great hideaway in Glen Park. The cottage is private and quiet, yet only a few blocks from the BART and Glen Park shopping area. A nice (and unadvertised) surprise is the sweeping view to the South, which I found particularly enjoyable in the evening. Overall the cottage was perfect for a quiet week of business travel in SF. I would definitely rent from Dana again.
Dana's cottage was incredible. The location is great and truly a "San Francisco neighborhood". We found it incredibly comfortable and well appointed. Definitely would recommend staying here.
This apartment, which is close to our son's home in Glen Park, is well situated and reasonably comfortable. It is also quiet, safe, and, with its own entrance, private.
That said, this place just misses the mark in small ways that would be so easy to remedy. Equipment, supplies, and information are all quite spare: no soap in the bathroom, no cereal bowls (but 12 wine glasses!), few cooking pots, no drawers to unpack into, knob missing from closet door. There were no directions for the coffee machine and no information about separating the trash. The bed was so carelessly made that the fitted sheet had come loose at the corners, so, first thing, we had to strip and remake it.
But these things are minor and did not create big problems for us. People considering this apartment, however, should pay careful attention to the reviews that mention the many steps down from the entrance to the door. They are uneven; some are in poor condition, and, at the end, poorly lit. We are in our 70s but are healthy hikers, so we managed fine, but anyone with mobility problems would fare badly. Even the able bodied could stumble and fall toward the end, where there is no motion activated light.
Another important consideration, which we did not see in the reviews, is that fact that there is a very steep internal stairway, leading to a back door, right in the center of the apartment. The location of this stairway, between the bed and the bathroom, makes it a real hazard for anyone getting up in the night. Even more dangerous is the fact that the balusters along this wide opening are easily a foot apart, open enough for a toddler to fall through. Surely this stairway is not up to code. The apartment has a Pack 'n Play and is advertised as child friendly, but Parents of small children should consider that this stairway is VERY DANGEROUS. I would not stay there with a child.
I stayed at Dana's cottage during a week of work in the Bay area. I had meetings scattered from downtown San Francisco, to San Bruno and San Mateo -- so the cottage was in a great location. Additionally it was within walking distance to restaurants and grocery. Highly recommended!
My wife and I (and our little white dog) had a great time at Dana's cottage. The space is cozy and the location is perfect. It is in a very walkable and quaint neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Beautiful house. Smooth check in and check out, tastefully decorated, good location, great panoramic view.
This Glen Park guest cottage was clean, quiet, and exactly what we were looking for. The Wonzers were very helpful and accommodating. The neighborhood is very cute, too -- lots of fun restaurants and cafes to explore.
We were in three and the cottage was the right solution for us. The host gave us clear instructions. We reccomend you a car for visiting downtown of SF. The neighborhood is quiet and very close to a bus line as well as a BART station. There are great Restaurants, a small grocery store, a tavern, and other essential services in the area.
Beautiful stay in SF, near BART, easy to find, great communication with Dana!
Excellent cottage with great access to the city. Me and my two brothers stayed there. Plenty of room for the three of us. Safe and quiet neighborhood. I give the place a 10.
