I have a new great friend....not, better said I have two great friends (Andrew and Paul). My last months in Chicago were awesome and Andrew was one of the main reason. He did that his house was the mine too. Even I was in his wedding and that moment will be a special remember for all my life. All people around Andrew made me feel very cozy....his friends, his parents, his (email hidden)d of course Paul.
For last, I could keep telling a lot of nice things, I have to recognize that I am a very lucky man to have known people as Andrew and Paul.
Thanks for doing that my stay in Chicago was so amazing! Hope I see you soon again!
Once again Andrew was amazing. The most gracious of hosts. Awesome room and Andrew is a fountain of knowledge about Chicago. Overall, just a great experience. And I'll be back next year.
I am truly grateful that Andrew accepted my request for my daughter, Kim, and goddaughter, Nice, to stay in his home for their five weeks' stay in Chicago to train at the Gus Giordano Dance School. Although both ladies are young adults, it was their very first time to go on a long journey away from home in the Philippines ON THEIR OWN. I was really, really anxious about selecting a good home for them to live in while in Chicago. I am glad the girls stayed with you.
Andrew's home was 'perfect'--the girls declare; so close to everything, and to public transport that they needed to get around. They loved their room so much, and all the facilities it afforded them.
More importantly, Andrew was an excellent host and 'uncle' (we say 'Tito') to Kim and Nice. According to Kim, he was clear about his expectations, and was so supportive of their activities. He understood their dance training schedule, responded so well to their need for directions, and sometimes company, and respected their need for space to be on their own. He went out of his way to cook for them or take them out to dinner whenever he could, introduced them to his family, and to his soul mate, Paul, who also extended much needed caring to the girls.
I have so much love and respect for Andrew, and hope that one day, I shall be able to return all the acts of kindness and generosity of heart and spirit he extended to Kim and Nice. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, ANDREW. I sincerely hope we shall meet sometime soon.
Just as you graciously welcomed Kim into your home, our home is always open to you, to Paul, and your family. I hope you can come and visit us in Manila!!! God bless you a hundredfold!
Wow! Our stay in Chicago was amazing, and a lot of that was because of our fabulous host Andrew. He was very kind and generous, even offering his room to us during our stay. He gave us the perfect balance of personal space and company, including taking us out to a great Mexican place for my birthday! He was heaps of fun and gave us all the tips and tricks we needed to make our short time in Chicago one that we won't forget. His place was perfect, clean and with all of the things that we needed to make our trip really easy (the super soft towels were an added bonus too!) Thanks so much Andrew! Can't wait to come back and see you again!
Andrew was a wonderful host. His apartment was quite inviting and Andrew went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. His advice for getting around Chicago was invaluable and the travel literature he makes available to his guests was much appreciated. My wife and I enjoyed our conversations with Andrew over breakfast; he is an interesting guy and getting to know him better was half the fun of staying at his place. We would stay with Andrew again without hesitation.
Andrew was a prince of a host. Thoughtful and considerate, offered great tips on discovering Chicago (including having guidebooks and maps available!); he went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, while at the same time leaving us to our devices. We enjoyed talking and getting to know him too.
This will probably be a rehash of what others have mentioned but seriously, no hyperbole in those reviews at all. The apartment is beautifully decorated and clean; the room is comfortable and the location is super convenient with various transport options within walking distance. There are various shops for groceries and places for good eats near the apartment. Andrew and his room mate, William Laurence, are amazing people to be around - both are warm, spirited, helpful and very funny Individuals with interesting stories and friends to share. They are also very mindful of privacy and need for private space (both physiological and physical). I can't say enough good things about their hospitality - invitations to join their friends for meals, texts to remind me to stay warm, hot tea awaiting on a wintry Chicago day and the list goes on. Having lived in Chicago for quite a it, they're walking troves of information on the city. If you need more information, the room is thoughtfully stocked with all kinds of maps, history books, travelling books and timeout magazines. I'll stop sounding like a parrot now - I'd definitely stay here again!
Response from Andrew:
Thank you kindly, sir!
Huge apartment, very comfortable, quiet, and about 8 minutes by the corner express bus to downtown! Andrew and flat mate William Lawrence are perfect hosts, welcoming generous and (email hidden)s, it's not down town, but I think that's an advantage...we were also about 2 mins walk to the red line, with access to everywhere, and we got to stay in a colourful neighborhood a block from the lake. They included us in their party on our last night and we had a great time ! Definitely absolutely a real airbnb gem .
My stay at Andrew was fantastic: the house is big, with a very welcoming backyard and a BBQ, and both the host (Andrew) and his housemate (William Laurence) are wonderful.
Andrew made my visit in Chicago amazing, even if i began with a lost wallet on my very first day (my own mistake). He even helped me with that matter throughout my stay.
Loved the house which is very comfortable and easily connected to downtown by bus or metro.
Loved the porch for some cocktails in the evening with William Laurence.
Loved all of it ;)
From the moment I booked, Andrew couldn't have been more helpful. I'd not been to Chicago before and he sent some great details of how to get to his place and of great things to see.
I was in Chicago to attend improv classes and spend time with some other I knew who were doing the same, so I wasn't about the apartment that much, but when I was there the atmosphere was relaxed, I was treated incredibly well, and was made to feel at home.
My stay couldn't have been better and I'd like to thank Andrew and William Laurence for their wonderful welcome, comfortable room and handy directions to the places I needed to get to. An exceptional first AirBnb experience.
stop reading reviews now. this guy is the bee's knees. incredibly understanding, humanistic, down to earth–the real deal. clean, respectful and all those other adjective. we totally got along and i want him back whenever he's in LA. (plus, he buys the BEST snacks)
keep living the good life brother!
Great guests! Very friendly and engaging. Would love to host them again on their next visit to Indy.
Andrew was the perfect guest! He was warm, friendly, engaging and interesting to talk to. He was also appreciative and respectful of our home. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to spend some time with him before he left. We loved having him here and would very much enjoy having him back any time.
Andrew is a great guy and I am happy that I had the honor of spending social time with him. He was neat , courteous and very generous!
Andrew stayed in my San Francisco loft for several nights. He was a wonderful guest and I would highly recommend him to other Airbnb hosts. He took good care of my loft and left it very clean. Thanks Andrew....you are welcome back anytime!
Andrew is a great guest! He treated our house as if it was his own and left it clean and perfect. Also super easy to communicate with.
Andrew was an awesome guest and is a warm, and pleasant person, it was a pleasure having him stay at our home. It was a great experience all around as Andrew is also a great cook and made dinner a few nights for everyone, also pancakes in the morning, yum! He is clear and communicative, respectful and clean, interesting and a friendly person who we would invite back in an instant if given the opportunity. It was great that Andrew felt at home in our home.
Let me set the scene..I am in vacationing in Ft Laudrdale FL when I get a text from Andrew wanting to rent me apartment. While taking a stroll along the beach I receive his text alert from AirBnB. Andrew needs to rent a place that day. We exchange a few texx back and forth, I call me friend to see if she can let him in and get him set up and the next thing you know it 5 hours (email hidden)drew is settled. This Is why I love AirBnB, but what happens next is why I love Andrew, My friend grreeted him and they hit it off immediatly. She calls me 5 minutes after she left and starts gushing about how cool he is and how funny..great great great etc and how I have to meet him when I get back. When I get back I stayed with my friend and started work right away so I did not have time to meet Andrew right away. But, we made plans to have brunch just hours before he was to leave. And i thank the Gods i had.
Instantly we hit it off. It was like old friends had finally found eachother. He is personalble, graciuos, kind and just plain GETS IT!! I wished we had more time together but, I know we will soon. He is a fantastic guy , and I am sure he a great host as well. He is a welcomed guest in my home anytime. he even left me with a gift as well...which I truely love ..Thanks Andrew
Fastforward a few days and my neighbors tell me that the guest I had the other day was awesome, that they met him on the balcony and chatted it up. now that is cool, to have your neighbors go out of there way to mention a renter...to me that means he really makes an immpression and he did.
Easy-going, cheerful, communicative and a delight. Love Andrew.
Andrew rocks. Authentic-style.
Andrew is a super nice guy who's a lot of fun. He likes to travel and treats his Airbnb guests like friends. This past summer we attended an outdoor party with Andrew and his guest who was visiting from Germany, she seemed to be having a great stay and enjoyed being included in a "real" Chicago event.
I've known Andrew for about 5 years. He's a gregarious, outgoing guy with a warm, inviting home. Being a creative director, he has great taste, and has filled his house with an eclectic mix of modern and classic pieces.
ANDREW is just one of the most awesome guys you ever want to meet, honestly. He's the one who introduced me to airbnb, and it's really changed my life in a lot of ways. He's extremely friendly, outgoing and about as interesting as a person can be made. You will NEVER be bored hanging or staying with him. His house is also pretty cool, in an eclectic area very close to Lake Michigan, and and easy walk to the Red Line train/Wilson stop which takes you downtown and to all the tourist sites. MEET ANDREW...STAY WITH ANDREW!!!! You will be thrilled that you did. I'M NOT KIDDING!!!!
I've know Andrew for lots of years, and his generous hospitality was one of the first qualities I noticed about him. He's always ready to bring positive energy and creativity to any situation. He knows the city well and can point you in just about any direction. Next time I'm in Chicago, I hope he has a spare room for me!
If you are looking for a great, culturally vibrant, internationally diverse, home like comfortable place to stay in Chicago, there is no place like Andrew&Rolando's house in Chicago. As an ukrainian descent, I like to stay at their place when I visit Chicago. It feels like home with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Really recommend for international travelers!!!
Andrew is great! You will find him to be the perfect host...he's engaging, fun, full of knowledge and WELCOMING!! Even though I live in the city, I want to be his Airbnb guest! Also, thank you, Andrew, for hooking me up with Airbnb...I had a great stay in Venice!!!
