Thank you for the review Laurel and Brad. It’s very helpful to read what we can improve upon as hosts.
I apologize that the space was not kept as clean as we would have liked to keep it and that you felt let down by the size/layout of the kitchen. It is certainly not our intention to make anyone feel mislead or deceived by the pictures.
For those of you who are hoping to stay with us, please know that the communal areas are not very large. This is very much a New York City apartment, with a small kitchen and bathroom with limited windows and counter space. We do our best to keep these areas clean and accessible for everyone staying with us, however (especially with multiple guests) we cannot do it alone.
When renting out the room for longer periods, we ask that everyone pitch in to help keep the space clean. While we are technically the hosts, we unfortunately do not run a hotel and it’s very important that everyone do their part to keep it tidy. We very much consider our air bnb guests to be our roommates and expect some help in maintaining the apartment.
So if you’re looking for a situation with more amenities, or if you’re traveling with multiple people and are hoping for large communal areas, this apartment is probably not for you. There are airbnbs in our neighborhood that cater more to those needs, but will be much pricier. If you’re looking for an affordable, cozy space with hospitable people in a great neighborhood, then our apartment is for you!
Thanks again, I hope this is helpful for future bookings. Wishing you all the best Laurel and Brad!
