We were shocked by Helene's negative review of us. We wrote her an extremely positive review, and didn't mention problems such as the pilot light going out on our first visit, with no instructions about re-lighting, though my husband was able to figure it out.
It's unfair to say that we were "demanding," as having to boil water in an tiny old funky pot is a serious health issue, and we were coming back the following month. We very NICELY ASKED her to provide a decent kettle for boiling tea water, for our return visit, knowing that future guests would appreciate this. The same is true of needing a reading light for the bed.
As for cleaning--we left the apt. clean and tidy, given that both times we had to leave very early in the morning. Helene provided no instructions about where to put garbage and re-cycling so we put newspapers stacked in a paper bag next to the garbage.
Helene's review was really unfair, and doesn't reflect the good care we took of the apartment.
