I am a locally born, now retired registered nurse. I enjoy having international guests. Happy to assist with bookings and local advice.
Carmel's house was perfect for my two-night stop in Kaikoura. She shared interesting stories about the people and living there, and gave excellent recommendations to suit what I was interested in around town. Very clean space, wonderful breakfast over a charming chat with Carmel, and convenient to get around (not too far to walk to town, but I was glad I had a car to get to the end of the peninsula and the bottom of Mt Fyffe for a tramp). Thank you, Carmel!
What a lovely home and Carmel is a wonderful and extremely helpful host, she was also very hospitable.
The room was very nice and spacious, very well located in beautiful Kaikoura and also very clean .
Will definitely go back ...
Our stay at Carmel's Rest n Kai was too short. The room is confortable for three adults. The situation is excellent; everything is accessible easily. The view outside is ... well. Awesome!
Carmel is a very warm et friendly. She was a nurse, so she knows how to take care of you. And her home made jams are fabolous!

We really enjoyed our stay at Carmel's ! We would recommend this B and B with a lovely view, we particularly enjoyed our breakfast and conversation with Carmel who is well travelled ! Very comfortable beds too !
I have stayed at Carmel's lovely home a number of times over the past few years. The room could not be more comfortable, with great mountain views. Breakfasts are great, and she could not be more helpful and friendly, whilst offering a private, peaceful place to stay. I highly recommend this B&B in a lovely town with many attractions.
