We completely loved NC, staying here made me feel completely at home, love Jeannette and Robert who instantly made me feel part of the family. My little girl fell in love with the whole place, she/we definitely want to come back and visit once again. Thank you so much!
Jeanette & Bob were wonderful hosts. Jeanette greeted us with a big hug. The house was just like it was described. The kitchen was fully stocked as were the bedrooms & bathrooms. The living room was warm & cozy & the deck overlooked a beautiful wooded area. The dogs enjoyed having room to stretch & liked the walks around the neighborhood.
This was our first experience with Airbnb and weren't sure what to expect. In our opinions we hit a home run on the first try. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with in Henderson and Bob and Jeannette are wonderful hosts. The house is as described in the listing, and is up in the hills (mountains?) about 5-10 minutes from Hendersonville . My wife and I traveled with one adult son and we had plenty of space to move around. The house is stocked with more than the essentials, such as plenty of books to read, local travel information, spices in the kitchen in case we wanted to cook, charcoal for the grill, etc. My family is rather tech oriented and we had great Internet and cable TV service. Of course, many of these amenities can be found elsewhere, but having Bob and Jeannette as hosts made the experience that much better. They checked with us before we left to make sure we had directions, were available if we had questions or needed anything but at the same time gave us our own space, and were quite interesting to talk to. While I doubt we'll be back in the Hendersonville/Asheville area any time soon, if we were we'd definitely try to book space with the Cannons.
We had a wonderful time at Jeannette & Bob's vacation home. This is a lovely, well equipped home with a great kitchen, deck, views, beds & everything else. The neighborhood is beautiful, the homes breathtaking & neighbors are friendly.
Jeannette & Bob are very kind, warm & compassionate people. They did everything possible to be sure our stay was comfortable & enjoyable. They are such nice people & interesting to talk with - I really enjoyed my time with them. I know we will keep in touch.
Staying at Jeannette and Bob's mountain home was like visiting a favorite relative. They made us feel like we were part of their family by providing so many extras: fresh strawberries, cold wine and beautiful roses at our arrival, local newspapers with area events, helpful suggestions and sweet notes throughout our stay. One of the highlights of our visit was our adventure to the Bat Cave BBQ Fundraiser Bob and Jeannette invited us to. We felt so welcomed!
Their home is in the most perfect location in North Carolina. My husband and I were able to walk the stunning neighborhood each day, meeting all the very friendly locals and enjoying the perfect weather. Downtown Hendersonville is vibrant, full of great restaurants, people watching and charming shops; plenty of action within five minutes of our home base. Asheville, Flat Rock, Brevard are all only a short drive away which gave us plenty of options. We enjoy hiking and loved the Carl Sandburg home with its rolling mountains, pastures, goats and gardens. It feels like you have stepped back in time. We look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven in the near future.
My girlfriend and I stayed here a month, while waiting for our apartment in Asheville. Bob and Jeannete were great hosts, they made sure we arrived ok, and they were responsive and helpful when we had questions. The house is well equipped. We felt very at home here.
We really enjoyed views into the forest from the deck, the kitchen and the living room! It was a great neighborhood for walking around, also. Nearby Hendersonville is a great place to walk around, also. There's a bit of window shopping for everyone, ice cream, coffee, craft beers, and a variety of food.
My wife Carol and I stayed here for a week while moving into a home in Hendersonville. The house was very convenient for us, and its charming nature was very much enjoyed. Jeannette's gracious husband Bob checked to make sure we were comfortable, which we were. Would book there again without hesitation.
Agree with other reviewers: Homey atmosphere, well equipped with dishes, glassware, etc.---- and lots and lots of books. If you run into bad weather it would be a great place to hang out to get out of the elements and curl up with a book or two. The large deck is a great plus.
Bob & Jeannette were wonderful, and so was the house.
It was a huge relief to arrive at this cozy home after a coast-to-coast road trip. We were lucky to arrive just before the Fall, when all the leaves were beginning to change. The amazing views, scenery, and cozy feel of the house were our favorite part staying here.
The house was welcoming and had character. It had everything we needed to live there for a whole month (plus, more homey things like books, board games, and maps of the area). The location is gorgeous and super-relaxing. I enjoyed views of the sunrise on my morning jogs. All the neighbors I met on the street were really friendly.
Our gracious hosts even dropped off some treats for our dogs, cookbooks to use, and apple cider for us humans!
Bob and Jeannette were wonderful hosts. They responded quickly to all of my emails and worked out specific arrangements to suit our travel needs. The house is comfortable and it was so nice to sit on the back deck and enjoy the sounds of the forest. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I would definitely recommend this home for a visit to Hendersonville. It was only minutes to downtown with great shops and restaurants.
