An organic farmer in beautiful Prince Edward County,
We had a lovely long weekend away in Prince Edward! The East Wing was cozy and warm with the fire on for our arrival.
It's a great space, perfect for a getaway with friends.
Steve and Heather were available to assist us when needed but having the wing to ourselves felt private.
Thanks for a great stay!
We had a wonderful time. It is a great space that is nice and private and the owners make you feel welcome but give you space. Loved everything about this place and we enjoyed getting out of the city. It is short dive to many wineries and great artists. It was also nice and dark at night which was great for seeing the stars. We would for sure come back.
The listing and the description of this place were perfect! It was a very nice environement, people were welcoming and they are growing AMAZING vegetables! The house was cozy, warm and big enough for four adults and tree children! I warmly recommend it anyone in need of a nice getaway in nature to go visit this place!
Thanks again for everything!
Quiet, peaceful, amazing!!! All the animals were friendly!!! I never caught the name of the dogs and cat, but they loved the attention!!! Heather was attentive!!! Came by to check if everything was all right!!! Steve responded promptly to all questions!!!! Would love to stay there again!!!!
This was the perfect venue for 4 ladies on a girls' weekend away - everything promised in the listing, and more. Clean, spacious and charming accommodation with a gas fireplace for warmth. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy beds. Willow and Fergus were charming canine hosts. Comical & entertaining gaggle of ducks made an appearance from time to time. Organic veggies available 24/7. Welcome bottle of wine in the fridge along with a friendly note of welcome on the door. And more.
As we toured around PEC, we actually felt a little sorry for people paying all that $$$ to stay at some of those swanky County inns... Fiddlehead Farm provides huge value for the money, and we all liked the idea of supporting a young farming family. We'll be back.
Our stay was very short, two nights, and we are glad we experienced meeting this young couple providing organic products for all of us to enjoy.
We had a wonderful time staying on the farm. Their cat was very welcoming, and we loved the fact that we could purchase fresh and delicious vegetables from their tiny farm store. Steve is a very conscientious host and checked in various times to make sure we had everything we needed, and the farmhouse itself was very spacious.
Lovely place to stay... it has all you may think and you need for staying....Nicely decorated and clean house, with a warm and welcoming neighborhood.
I recommend this to anyone who wants to stay close to sandbank and picton area, and experience a quite and peaceful time.
Thanks Heather & Steve!
This was our second stay at Fiddlehead Farm. It's a working farm with basic accommodation in a quiet part of PEC. You can get wonderful fresh organic veggies and eggs from the chickens that roam around the farm.
Our two small kids loved it. But if you are not into dogs, there are two dogs that sometimes bark and that didn't strike us as totally kid friendly.
Our stay at Fiddlehead Farm and in PEC in general were fantastic! The East Wing is great for a family and living on an organic farm has many advantages, such as being able to purchase veggies and meat on the premises, have walks to watch the sunset (accompanied by an enthusiastic dog) and live in a quiet and bucolic setting. Our son loved seeing how a farm works and made fast friends with the dogs, Fergus and Willow, and with the cat.
We very much enjoyed the nice bottle of Three Dogs rosé left in the fridge, the Parks pass (which we used almost daily to go to Sandbanks), all the perks (such as coffee, some staples in the fridge, Fiddlehead soaps and other toiletries, etc.) and the fact that Heather and Steve laid out all the appropriate pamphlets about local events and things to see in the region. All in all, it was a great vacation and we are hoping to return to Fiddlehead Farm in the (hopefully near) future!
Steve's dad, Alan, was my guest. Alan was tremendously personable. We enjoyed good conversation and it was my great pleasure to have Alan as my very first airbnb guest. Alan is always welcome in my home. If you have the opportipuni to host Alan, I would recommend him as an excellent guest.
