Everything was great, we really enjoyed our time in Brooklyn, Jane's apartment was exactly what we were looking for if you want to stay with a group of people. We would certainly stay at Jane's place next time we go to NY.
Thank you, Jane.
We had a great time here. It was perfect for me and my boys. The apartment was clean and reasonably priced and bigger than I was expecting, which was nice. The playground across the street was a great feature as well.
The host canceled my reservation 25 days before arrival.
Jane is a very accommodating host. She picked up our luggage when we arrived super early in New York, and was there with advice and assistance when we needed it. Her place is definitely value for money, she has lots of quirky things and interesting books and is well serviced by public transport. The bus to the station comes frequently and is very close by, and the metro station is about 20 minutes away on foot. If you are looking for affordable accommodation in an expensive city, Jane's place is definitely a good bet.
Although we didn't meet jane personally she was very kind gave us a lot of usefull tips and helped immediately when we had some problems with the heating and the hot water. If cleaneness is your number 1 priority you probably should't go there but it was ok.the loft is huge and has a nice artistic touch as has the area around.
We arrived at the Loft late in the evening (after Jane helped us find it by phone).
The loft looked nice but wasn't very clean. The kitchen looked like someone just used it and did not clean it, the shower curtain had seen better days and the floor needed some attention. The bedroom itself was very clean.
As a guy I could live with it but my wife went bonkers and started cleaning. After a few hours of scrubbing the floor and parts of the kitchen the house felt more like a home. The next day I walked to Ikea (which is a 7 minute walk) and bought a new shower curtain & mat. From that moment all was good!
Although we never saw Jane she started to grow on us. The pictures, her books, her to do list on the door etcetera.
The building is freaking cool and had a washing machine and dryer on each floor. The neighborhood was great. It was quite a walk to the train, we didn’t mind. We called it fitness ;-).
Jane left us self-made chocolates and enough tips to enjoy our stay. We loved Brooklyn and we would do it all over again if the house would get some extra cleaning (website hidden). we didn’t get to put out the trash (we couldn’t find the place to dispose it)
Jane was fantastic. The place was spacious and roomy, and her homemade chocolates were delicious. We had a fantastic time!
While I did not get to meet Jane in person, she left clear instructions on where to find keys, a helpful little map, and even some homemade chocolates! The location is great, only a quick jaunt to the nearest subway station and the neighborhood feels safe to walk around at nearly all hours. The hammock is an amazing addition, and the environment was comfortable and friendly.
thank you Jane! Very helpful! ( Cereals homemade
Jane is too too too good! ;-) ). The apartment is quiet! Close to bus and shops. A beautiful experience of Brooklyn !!
Loved the apartment and the surroundings!
Not that close to the subway, but if you are up for a walk or ready to take the bus it is easy to get to other places. We had a great time and spend more time in Red Hook, and the area up to Smith/Atlantic than initially planned.
Jane is the hostess among hostesses. Easy to get hold of and glad to help out if needed.
Jane, her husband, two friends and two well behaved dogs were wonderful guests. They left our house clean and in beautiful condition, put all the used linens in a neat pile and thoughtfully closed and locked all the windows. Jane was a pleasure to communicate with from start to finish and I highly recommend her as a guest. We would welcome them back to The Adventure House at anytime.
Jane is a phenomenal friend to whom I can't say enough kind things about. An amazing host with some pretty sweet digs. I've enjoyed many a party, barbecue, or just some plain ol' hang out sessions is this spacious unique apartment. Love, love the neighborhood. Red Hook has some serious charm, ask Jane about the local drinks and eats and anything NYC related.
Jane is a funny, smart, considerate friend with a huge, unique apartment in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Be sure to ask her for recommendations on great restaurants and bars in Red Hook and all over New York--she always knows a fun place to go for dinner or a drink.
