Thanks to Susan for being such a gracious host. We had been cycling on the C&O canal towpath after heavy rain and were quite muddy. Susan was great in providing the space and materials to tidy up. Room and bath were nice and neat.
The house is in a quiet new neighborhood but a long walk to the downtown. Fortunately we had the bikes to zip down.
Susan is a very welcoming and friendly person. She gave me good information about the area, where to eat and where to do my morning run - beautiful by the way ;-). The pets are as friendly as Susan, no worries! I was able to come and leave as pleased and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The room was comfortable and since I was the only guest I even had a private bathroom.
Susan is very welcoming and friendly. She makes you feel very comfortable and has a wealth of information about the area. Having access to the deck, living room and kitchen was a nice feature, as was free wifi. The price was also very reasonable. Although not far from train tracks, it was very quiet at night. We couldn't hear trains at all. The neighborhood is nice.
Susan was a very gracious and kind host, and also very easy to communicate with. The room was very comfortable. We had access to a private bathroom and Susan allowed us to move about the house and come and go as needed without any problems. I would definitely recommend Susan as a host to anyone interested.
My wife and I stayed here while biking the C&O trail. It was a great location - very close to the trail, and a great value. Susan and her pets were very friendly.
You are right. The summer heat came fast. I do have a fan for the room. Sorry I forgot to get it out.
Susan is a very easy going, accommodating host. Very flexible. Her house is in a great location for me, and there is a great little restaurant nearby. The room and bathroom are clean and comfortable. Definitely recommended.
Susan was an extremely accomodating guest - I didn't have a car, and my schedule kept changing because of professional engagments, and she made my trip much easier.
Susan has a lovely house and is a warm and generous host! I highly recommend this place and I would definatly stay there again!
Susan was very helpful and accommodating during my stay. I was bike riding the C+O towpath and ran into bad weather and an additional 16 miles that day. I was very late in arriving but kept in contact with Susan throughout. After a long day on the towpath, Susan was the perfect host. She made suggestions with perfect directions for restaurants, bike shops and a place to get ice cream. Susan was a great host. A special note to the bikers on the C+O. Susan's home is located very conveniently to the towpath. Her house, restaurants and a BIKE SHOP (closed on Wednesdays) make this the perfect stop in Brunswick. I would stay there again if I was in the area on my bike or visiting Harper's Ferry
Susan was very friendly and helpful. She was totally flexible since we didn't know what time we'd be getting in, and let us stay late and make breakfast in the morning. If you are biking the C&O and looking to stay in Brunswick, this is a good option!
Susan began enquiring about the Turf Burning Cottage far in advance of her trip to Ireland. From the outset I had no doubt that she and her companions would make excellent guests. I was so delighted that the cottage had caught her attention as it seemed to fit exactly with her interests and needs. What is more pleasure for a host than being able to deliver exactly what is needed & to provide information to interested parties! It was clear that she wanted to explore the unbeaten paths of Ireland as well as the known highlights and wanted to get the maximum out of her trip by reading up in advance. Such interested guests were a pleasure for me! I could indulge in promoting my cottage, it's accessibility to the rest of Ireland and the lovely terrain & very special rural community that it lies in. Susan was upfront with all details about her impending trip and very clear about her requirements. She was courteous and appreciative throughout each step of the booking & pre-travel process, a true pleasure to deal with. She proceeded with her travel plans despite an illness intervening. Such passion, reliability and commitment can only be admired. Unfortunately I did not get to meet Susan or her travelling companions but neighbours in Upperchurch who did (Anne from across the lane, Connie Ryan, the retired Rural Recreation Officer & folks down in "Jim O' the Mill) had nothing but positive comments to make. Susan & her friends enhanced the community for one week with their friendly warmth, appreciation & enthusiasm. Susan and her friends left the cottage in excellent condition on vacating day. It is very clear that they had regarded & treated the cottage as though it had been their own home. I really enjoyed being a host for Susan and her friends; to be honest I am sad that her trip is now over! I wish her happy travels and have no hesitation in recommending her to any potential hosts.
