Relaxed, friendly, not particularly nosey :)
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the room.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I was very disappointed with my stay here. I have no idea whether or not i met Gray because none of the people in the house introduced themselves to me, not even the lady who took me to my room. I was told that i could use the kitchen if i wanted, but wasn't actually showed where it was. Whilst i stayed there it snowed and the heating was switched off, resulting in me having to wear 3 layers of clothes to bed just to keep warm. I was also in the shower and had the hot water switched off, until i left the bathroom before someone rushed in after me. I was very surprised to have had such a bad experience after i read good reviews. Overall i felt very unwelcome and my stay was very disappointing. I'm sorry to say that i will not be staying here again and will not recommend.
I was a bit frustrated with my stay. Before I made the reservation, I asked whether the house would be quiet, since I was going as a student and needed to be up early. I was told that would be fine. When I got there, however, there was techno music and television until past midnight. When I mentioned this to Gray, I was told "It's Friday night, this is what we do."
The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, but did smell strongly of dogs. You can use the kitchen, which is lovely, but it isn't very clean-- often food left out overnight, etc. Also, although Gray's description sounds fairly friendly, in my experience he and the woman who lives there (who never bothered to introduce herself to me) are not really interested in talking to their guests.
If you're planning to be out late, don't mind smells, and don't expect to need any pointers from Gray, this would probably work well for you. Otherwise I might consider staying somewhere else.
Clean and comfortable. Good value.
I needed a room for the night to do some house hunting in the area. Friendly atmosphere and accommodating with arrival times, which was really helpful. Thanks.
This is the second stay at Gray's house. Everything was great! Thank you for hosting.
I just needed a place to stay while I was working in Oxford. This was much better than a hotel. Cheaper, very chilled out, friendly. The house was clean and the shower was hot. They also very kindly let me cook my dinner there so I could save on eating out. Cheers guys.
Couldn't have been easier. Gray was quick to respond and very accommodating. The room was no-frills (just a bed and a place to hang our coats), but all we needed was a place to sleep for the night and we had a very good, quiet night's sleep. Thanks, Gray!
There are several rooms in the house, the room you get may not be the room of the pictures.
The owners are laidback and easy-going, we had no problem at all during my stay.
Not very convenient to work here as a student : there was no desk in my room.
You can freely use the kitchen which is very good.
First time using Airbnb - and I'm inpressed. Very short notice booking.
I arrived late and left early so I didn't actually meet Gray. We communicated by text and message beforehand and all that went very smoothly. I was met by someone else - who showed me around, sorted out a towel and the internet - all fine. Thanks.
The room was exactly as described and reviewed by others - basic but very comfortable, huge bed, warm and wonderfully quiet and calm. The bathroom is lovely and the shower works - great. Just as described, calm, relaxed house. I hope to return but it is very popular so I need to be more organised with my bookings!
