This place is beautiful. If you like soms space and rest, this is the perfect place to stay. We stayed there with our three children. Enough space to play. Alex was always nice and give us good information.
Thank you for the nice stay! Me and my family really liked it.
We had a great time staying with Andi and Liz. The house is exactly as described. 3 bedrooms that sleep 2 people in each room on the upper floor. In the bottom floor there is a beautiful living area. Out side is a small kitchen equipped with all that is needed and around the corner, just a few steps walking -the shower and bathroom with hot water. This is not luxury but a very real authentic experience of living of the Grid. There are 2 tiny shops in walking distance in which you can get very basic things.
It's located 2 minute walk from main road on which you can easily find a ride to either side of valley (located very convinietly in the center)
Andi is very nice and helpful, arranged for wifi for us, gave helpful advice and arranged for great transportation from airport. Liz as well is kind and great, did our laundry for us and was always gracious.
We loved living in village, very quite, not touristic. Took a walk to the river one day and just enjoyed seeing rural life take place around us.
Alex and Liz have a beautiful spot in Sillacancha in the Sacred Valley between Urubamba and Calca. Transportation can be had on the local buses for 1 sole/person to either town and a taxi for 15-20 soles. They can help arange a variety of activities if you wish or stay out of your way. Having a native english speaker like Alex is very helpful in making sure everything is clear beforehand with activities or drivers. The place is clean and they are responsive to any requests you may have. They make fine meals if you want and can take care of laundry as well. This is not a tourist spot and we only encountered tourists in the nearby cities. We had no problems with the hot water during our stay. We had Alex arrange to have a driver pick us up in Cuzco as it may be a little hard to find but they will have a sign next to the road soon. Great place to stay away from the tourists while still being a great home base to explore all the Sacred Valley has to offer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Had a great stay. The house was lovely and zen. Alex and Liz were an amazing host and very helpful with arranging transportation and guidance on Machu Picchu..
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Alex and Liz were super friendly and their amazing home was very welcoming. These hosts are offering a rare opportunity to get an authentic experience in the Lares Valley.
PROS - Rooms were clean and beautiful, Alex and Liz live next door and made themselves available to all of our questions about the Hostel or local area, common room is spacious and comfortable, Transportation to Urubamba, Cuzco and other destinations was easy.
CONS - Finding location required a bit of effort (I thought it fun but some might find the experience daunting)
