I am an American journalist who has lived in Italy for over 20 years, married to an Italian architect. We love beautiful places, especially our angle of Southern Tuscany. Three kids - two in university - all world travelers.
The Locanda is a very nicely restored old house. The room was very cosy and comfortable and everything was very clean. The staff was very helpful , never met Courtney. However, i wouldn't recommend it for more than an overnight stay when traveling to Tuscany as it is set a bit too south from the Tuscan sites such as Montepulciano and Pienza or even San Gimignano. Also, its an hour away from the Umbrian sites. Its a good place for relaxing maybe and bathing in the Nearby baths away from the tourist routes.
Wonderful Inn and a wonderful stay. The room was so great and cute. Quintessential tuscan accommodation. Since we would be arriving later than when they were open Courtney was so nice and stayed for us to give us the key. The location was perfect. So central that we easily drove to several cities. It was so beautiful and very quiet. Also, the breakfast was great and perfect to start our day! Also, the attached restaurant is a must!! Sergio had given the cook the night off. So he was out host, waiter and cook... and pulled it off beautifully. One of our favorite dinners in all our stay in Italy
