Joe (that's me) is a retired Social Studies teacher. I taught for over 30 years in upstate NY. I taught classes in Government, World History, African-Asian Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, Sociology, Psychology, Global Studies and much more.
My hobbies are reading (non-fiction), learning woodworking, watching American football and real futbol (soccer) and playing awful golf. I am a cancer survivor.
Betsy (my wife) is a retired English teacher and author. She has a horse named Joy. She is an animal person. Her hobbies include taking care of the animals, knitting, reading, reading, reading and playing the recorder.
I graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Anthropology. Subsequently attended Western Michigan University and the State University of NY at Brockport. Betsy took her BA in Anthropology at WMU and an MA at NY University at Geneseo with additional studies at Empire State College.
Our travels include a few trips to the Yucatan peninsula as well as travel to Guatemala, England, France and Italy. We travel light and try to avoid hotels and like to walk around side streets to discover the local communities. Our next trip overseas , we hope, will be to Andalusia.
