We stayed here for my brother's bachelor party and had a great time. David was very easy to work with. The house is perfect for a fun weekend and is within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars.
The house is great; perfect place for a bachelor party! Location is fantastic, short walk to Rainey Street and just a slightly longer walk to 6th.
Room size and beds were good, plenty of space for all of our party. The pool is the best part! We ended up cancelling some of our plans and spent one of the days just lounging around it.
David was great to work with. He provided all of the information for checking in and checking out in a timely manner.
David was response in the pre-stay process and gave detailed and helpful instructions for the property. It was a terrific venue for a bachelor party, and the guests often would rather stay at the property than go out. That being said, it is easy walking distance to terrific BBQ and a 20 minute walk to Rainey. The AC in all three units worked well and made for a comfortable stay in warm weather.
Perfect Bachelor Party House
David's Wild West Compound was the PERFECT location for the recent bachelorette party I hosted in Austin, TX. Everything about the place was top notch, and David was extremely responsive throughout the booking process and with all communication leading up to the rental weekend. (email hidden)! I highly recommend this location for your large group!
This compound was absolutely perfect for our week stay in Austin!! Everyone had their own private space but the porch and outdoor area were perfect for communal dining and hanging out. Will definitely be back to stay again!
Also perfect location. Close to everything & in the artsy side of town. Easy to work with & accommodating.
A bunch of friends met up in Austin and this compound was perfect for our weekend trip! Shared a few messages with David the week of the booking and it was very well done. The furnishings are simple and all three buildings are very spacious. The neighborhood is in a great location in east Austin, probably 20 minutes or so to walk to Rainey Street, if the weather is nice. There are parks and taco stands in the area. Willow Street is very laid back and the surrounding lots are large so no issues with the neighbors. If you need a place to sleep a lot of people in a super cool town there is no better option than this compound! Thanks, David.
Second time staying here, just as good as the first. The place is clean and huge and great for large gatherings. This is our new go to spot for when we bring the team to Austin. Thanks
Great Place! Great Location! Great stay!
We were a mixed group and the divided sections of the house made it great for group fun but also allowed for the couples to (email hidden). Pool and BBQ were the icing on the cake.
David (email hidden) and always available and helped us massively to organised our stay as we came from overseas.
We made 'the compound' our home for SXSW Interactive 2013 and it didn't let us down. A large group of work colleagues, the 'three building' approach enabled us to group nicely by gender and ensure that the group had sufficient space and not on top of each other.
David very generously assisted with air mattresses for our larger than planned guest numbers, this worked well, the bedrooms were very spacious and easily accommodated an additional Queen Size air mattress.
Mega size TV's everywhere and cable with more channels than I could count. Super speedy broadband covered most of the property - which catered for our large group without any speed issues, but didn't quite reach the pool house - keep this mind if you're booking a large group from who might need to be online the most.
It's only a 10-12 minute walk from Willow St to Convention Centre. There may also be some bikes available for your use - check in with David prior to your arrival. If you're a runner, you're in luck - literally a half mile down to the lake and there are miles of uninterrupted running trails East or West.
East Austin / Chavez really is emerging as the hip and happening part of town. The cultural melting pot combines incredible Mexican food as well as a coffee and breakfast scene that is showing the rest of the country how a real coffee is made. The best advice I can offer on the East-side - "Don't judge a book by the cover".
One of our guests summed it up as (email hidden), close to town with great Mexican just around the corner" - I can certainly attest to the frequency in which Las Cazuelas was frequented.
Thanks very much David, we had a great (website hidden). Our only regret is that the weather didn't let us put the pool to use - never-mind, there's always 2015...
