Response from Ardele:
I think Jill was under the impression that AirBNB operates more like a hotel than as a home sharing experience. I live both in NYC and Los Angeles and thus have some personal items in the apartment (stored in containers underneath the bed and in a few boxes in the wardrobe when I am hosting guests). Jill was very dissatisfied with her experience, despite my efforts to try to accommodate her concerns. The plumbing is pre-war and thus you have to hold down the toilet lever for about 3 seconds until it is finished flushing, which greatly angered Jill for some reason. The rest of Jill's review regarding "underpants", "holes in bath towels" and "inadequate cleaning" is, quite frankly, false (and I believe written here to try to harm my reputation as a host). I'm not sure what she is referencing about the sun. The windows do face north, however you can see in the photos that the apartment is very light during the day. I have had over 100 guests stay in my apartment and have had nothing but wonderful and enthusiastic reviews and feedback given. This was an unfortunate experience for both of us, and I believe a result of their lack of experience with using AirBNB and what they were ultimately seeking.
