Having spent several days scanning the internet for an authentic and peaceful hideaway we were delighted to discover La Maison Biancone. It is very rare to find a grand house that hasn't been ruined by over restoration. It is uniquely positioned high in the hills with stunning layered views of the sea and surrounding countryside. The rooms are large and airy and frayed at the edges but in a good way. The welcoming committee (Taleb the gardener) couldn't have been more helpful. A great property to enjoy or use as a springboard to the many delights southern Corsica has to offer.

Although I never met Pauline during this visit, everything was well organised prior to my arrival. The studio was clean and easy enough to get to. Just a tip, for people with luggage, it will be best to catch a cab, by looking at the map it looks like it is a short walk up from sheung wan station, but in fact they are all stairs (lucky I had someone drop me off). The studio was clean and had everything that I needed as I was travelling alone. Lots of quirky and hipster shops in this area, must check out teakha which is a 2 minute walk from this apartment, amazing coffee shop. All in all good communication and great location of this apartment.
The flat is nice and clean. 5min walk to supermarket and 10min to MTR, however you need to walk upstairs. It will be harsh for big luggage.

unique! you will hardly find another place like this in corsica: a huge historic house, full of atmosphere in a special nature setting with great views. many small things do not work proper and occasionally patina took over. you should not mind things like that and regard this as personality. the house is lovingly, but decent furnished by the owners family in a very personal and eclectic style, generating familiarity and warmth. it is set in the corsican macchia with great views to the sea and has a (bit scruffy) garden with a swimming pool equipped with deck chairs. being surrounded by nature (the next neighbor or any civilisation is 2km away) you will have absolute quietness and peace. there are two nice terraces - one to south-east, under an immense palm tree and covered of the balcony is the perfect place for breakfast with (little) sea view. the huge western terrace, paved with dressed stone is definitely going to be your favorite spot for a sundowner and dinner, overlooking the gulf of propriano. although the kitchen is small, you can sit there, the cooking-equipment is basic, but ok - you will love the two stand fridges and the big gas hob :-) further there are two nicely furnished and cozy rooms: the dining room and, attached, another place to relax and chill on divans or a couches... and, as well situated on the ground floor there is another living room, which provides a TV and books and allows you to retreat. upstairs you will find 5 sleeping rooms, each with 2-3 places - so the house can accommodate up to 12 people or maybe 2-3 smaller families. all rooms have a particular appearance, most have sea-view and two have a small bathroom as supplement to the shared one on the floor. you will definitely need a car to get there and the next village or beach with a mini market is at least 20min by car. If you are not getting lazy and don´t mind spending time on cruising around, you can do a lot of things around: discovering a private cove or beach (tizzano), exploring the backcountry and mountains with sculpturally shaped rocks, visiting the nice (and understandably a bit touristic) village of sarténe or the tranquil village of campomoro and its beach. in a range of 1,5hours by car you can visit bonifacio and ajacio or see the stunning col de bavella. if you have an adventurous mind and search solitude and nature, if you don´t get annoyed of the imperfections of an historic house, if you dispense with some amenities you may be used - then you will surely have an unforgettable stay in this charming villa! the host pauline seems to be nice and caring for the house an guests - although she lives overseas, she answers reliable within some hours. ask her for a good description how to get there - we didn´t have any and so we were searching a while. now we...
Pauline gave very detailed directions to her apartment. It is nice and cozy, but lacks basic amenities such as toilet paper and hairdryer, which made our stay quite inconvenient.
Pauline is a wonderful, nice and friendly host. Her apartment is very clean, tidy, with all the details you need. Great location to the CBD, bars and all the entertainments. Will definitely want to stay in this apartment again.
