This was exactly as expected and reported in other reviews: lovely space, good conversation, and scrumptious breakfasts. Our kids (3 and 1) were comfortable and did not want to leave. Both kids opted to sleep in the king sized bed with my husband and me, but there is also a mattress available and the walk-in closet was big enough my older child decided it was a bedroom and set-up some blankets and pillows for naps. We didn't have time to enjoy the pool, but we did explore the garden a little (it is beautiful) and relax in the hammock. I would love to repeat the experience.
We had a wonderful stay here. Laura and Chris were exceptional hosts and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We were staying with them during summer, and when we returned to their place after a particularly warm day, found that they had installed an additional high power fan that really cooled down our room. In addition, Laura would cook fantastic breakfasts for us each morning and have us enjoy that out on the deck. The room is spacious and very tastefully furnished, and I would highly recommend that anyone who's planning to visit Sonoma valley stay here!
Laura and Chris are wonderful hosts. We look forward to returning to Sonoma County and would definitely stay with them again. Laura fixed wonderful breakfasts each morning and we enjoyed great conversation with them -- a very interesting and dynamic couple. We wanted to check out Laura's winery, where she makes her aperitif but we ran out of time (juggling wedding related obligations). The bedroom is just as described -- very large and airy, and gets amazing light. And their location renders wonderful access to all that Sonoma offers. Great cycling... beautiful vineyards... Russian River fun, easy access to the coast, etc. Thanks so much Laura and Chris for opening your home to us!
Laura and her beautiful home were simply the best. So warm, kind and gracious. The grounds and the pool are so lovely and everything about our stay was wonderful, especially our daily homemade breakfasts. Would recommend staying here in a heartbeat!
Laura was a great host! The house and gardens are amazing, and we felt free to make ourselves at home. Laura gave us our space while making us feel welcome - a fine balance to master. I'd recommend her to my friends and will plan to stay here again next time I'm in Russian River Valley.
Laura's home was very relaxing and inviting. Our room was extremely spacious, comfortable and bright with a door leading out to a wonderful deck area which is perfect to have a glass of wine and relax with a good book. Our bathroom was also a delight. We enjoyed the pool twice during our stay, which was very refreshing.
The listing is accurate and we recommend their home. The home is located in a small town that provides great access to an abundance of wineries.
My friend and I stayed at Laura's place over Memorial Day Weekend and we had a wonderful time. Her home is lovely and the outdoor area is very tranquil and serene. The best part of our stay, however, was our gracious host Laura. She made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Laura also was available to answer our questions and give us information about the area. Laura made our first airbnb experience a memorable one.
The house was wonderfully set in a garden with a pool and perfectly placed for exploring the Russian River wineries and superb coastal wilderness. The room is as described, large and homely, with a great view and library to match.
Laura was remarkably accommodating despite our late re-arrangement of the booking. We were served delicious home-made breakfasts starring scones, marmalade, tacos and fresh fruit and were able to taste Laura's own lovely Grapefruit aperitif.
Last but not least it was the interesting and engaging conversations with our host that made this one of our best AirBnB stays.
A beautiful home at the end of a quiet lane, a friendly family, a huge master suite with jetted tub and separate shower, private entrance to the deck overlooking the rose gardens and pool, a shady hammock under the trees with views out to the vineyards...Need I mention this is one of the most peaceful and relaxing spots you're likely to ever find? You don't even need the added attractions of Laura's homemade scones and granola. let alone the tasting of her innovative aperitifs, crafted from homegrown herbs. No wonder it's hard to find vacancies... I'm just hoping there will be an opening when I get the time to return!
Sure, the spacious guest suite is great and the location is quiet and beautiful while the price is a steal. However, what has made this our go-to Russian River wine country lodging spot is how much we enjoy talking to Laura and Chris, a super-smart, interesting and thoughtful couple who are not only excellent hosts but also have wide-ranging interests that make for delightful conversations.
Laura and her husband were delightful guests. I was not able to be home much, however they kept in contact with me regarding their arrival arrangements and any questions they had during their stay. They both are very outgoing, personable and respectful people. All our conversations were enjoyable and I hope they return sooner than later.
Laura was a great guest to have. Friendly and respectful. Very helpful with suggestions for us since it was our first time hosting.
Even though Laura was only here for a few hours, it was nice hosting her. She was friendly, easy going and left the room and bathroom spotless. She even separated the linens and pillows that she hadn't used in order to help me save on laundry. I would love to host Laura anytime.
Perfect guests would love to have them stay again.
We've been Chris and Laura's guests many many times, and each time we leave their wonderful place refreshed and renewed. The views from the guest room and the adjoining vine-veiled deck really do look like Tuscany (well, pictures of Tuscany; we haven't actually been to Tuscany; why go to all the way to Italy, we say, when we can go to Chris and Laura's?). The food and conversation are always inspired, and the pool is one of our very favorite places to take an early morning swim. I highly recommend Chris and Laura's B&B to everyone!
This has got to be the best deal in all of the wine country! Not only is this country home beautiful, secluded, and quiet, it is splendidly located with sweeping--truly Tuscan--views. And if you prefer your quiet times to be laced with a solid shot of intellectual stimulation, you will find that this is a family made up of world-class conversationalists. For years now, this has been a touchstone environment for our family, and we have never left Laura and Chris and their wonderful place without feeling refreshed and renewed. We've often compared our stays to being in a unique and lovely B&B. Now you can see what we mean.
