Stayed one night with Penty. He's a kind person who teaches at the neighborhood school. Though he doesn't actually speak much English, he was very patient with me; a beginner in Spanish. His apartment is very secure and very simple, and he is extremely accommodating. There is A/C and wifi, too. It's a 10 minute taxi to/from the airport. There is only one set of keys, which just like most secure buildings in Venezuela, are required to operate everything from doorways to elevators. So, you must coordinate your schedules. (Which Penty was very happy to do for me).
He was good enough to take me down to a taxi stand at 5am! It was a late minute and very short stay that worked well for me.
penty is super cool, worth trusty. he can come to pick you up and either return by taxi to his place or by bus depending on how much luggage you´ve got.
if you need to change money into Venezuelan bolivars, he can also give you a very good exchange rate, much superior than anywhere (in airport or in your home country).
the experience has being very nice and I am very thankfull to penty for taking care of me while I had to stay overnight in the airport area.
Penty was super nice meeting me at the airport and escorting me with local bus to hos place and saving lots of bolivars. Perfect stop after Los Roques and the ability to connect to internet was perfect! Thanks Penty!
Penty is a very nice person, helpsome and helped me with everything and answered all my questins. You cant find a better host
Penty was a great guest and a lot of fun. He had to have a sense of humor, as did I. He didn't speak a lot of English and I speak even less Spanish. We managed to work it out though. I hope if he comes back to Washington, he will stay here again.
