Your negative review is not a surprise. I've been an AirBNB host for almost three years so one bad review in that time I something I can live with. I took a chance hosting someone with no verifications, no Facebook friends, and no reviews from other AirBNB hosts so you never know who is going to turn up without any background information. When I saw you arrive in your ram shackled vehicle I was afraid I was about to host a homeless person. Leaving that vehicle parked in my driveway for three days was not pleasant.
Regarding the Marriott comment---simply a response to you saying "I'm not comfortable walking through your house" in order to get to the apartment. If you were not comfortable having to interact with your AirBNB hosts then I thought it might be better for you to stay in a more traditional hotel setting. I do not want my guests to feel uncomfortable and I and my wife do not want to feel uncomfortable having you around. Sorry if you felt I was being rude to your wife but you didn't even bother to introduce her to us so I didn't know she was your wife or what her name was.
I agree that the small refrigerator can be noisy at times but there is an on/off switch which you did find. As you know, there is a larger refrigerator for you to use so you were not inconvenienced by turning off the other refrigerator if it was too noisy. Regarding the kennel smell---I have never heard that comment any previous guest. There has not been a dog staying there with a guest for over 8 months. So the only smell of a kennel has to be from the dog you brought with you. If this was really a problem you could have brought it to my attention when you were here or let AirBNB know within the first 24 hours you were here. We both would have gladly refunded your money. You did neither. Instead you stayed a total of three nights so it really could not have been as bad as you say.
Obviously, we did not care for each other. Not a problem. I've hosted well over 30 guests so there is always going to be one bad apple. If you are not comfortable being around AirBNB hosts, then maybe AirBNB is not the right service for you.
I did not mean to be unfriendly but it is a bit upsetting when a guest arrives 6 hours before their scheduled check-in time and only 15 minutes after the previous guests had departed. I expected a call asking for permission to do this before the guest enters the property rather than after they did so.
