Our family of four - two teen daughters and us - consider ourselves lucky to get accepted by Carolyn and Paul for a 9 days stay at their large and bright apartment in Brooklyn. We don't think we could have found a much better place to live in New York for our Easter holiday. A superb location with several subwaylines for Manhattan as well as for different Brooklyn neighbourhoods within a short walking distance. And the neighbourhood itself is also interesting and makes for nice walks.
The Apartment IS a home and certainly made us feel at home - images in the ad beeing true to both standard and size. A spacious apartment, with a large and practical kitchen and living room, making breakfast at home - and dinner too - possible and attractive. Our girls shared one bed, a bit smaller than ours, but the 2 bedrooms was nice to have and we could sleep with the windows open to the back yard at night without beeing bothered by noise or traffic at all. Wonderful!
Carolyn and Paul themselves were very sweet and helpful, waiting for us late in the evening the day we arrived, even with cold beer ready. We stayed in contact during our stay, got the extra information we needed when necessary, and had no trouble at all with the apartment or with our great hosts.
We are really happy to have had this experience - our first Airbnb - and would definitely contact Carolyn and Paul another time for a second stay. We give them and the apartment our best recommendations.
Amund Johne and Ellen Haug,
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment was bright and clean, exaclty as the pictures show. The bathroom is clean and the shower works very well. The checkin was smooth and the hosts waited two hours for our delayed flight.
The floor is a bit noisy when you walk at night and the bedrooms don't have air conditioner, only fans.
The access to NYC subway is awesome, lots of lines at the Atlantic Ave, just across the corner, less than 5 minutes walking. The neighborhood is nice, with groceries and breakfast nearby.
I totally recommend it.
I've become used to airbnb hosts' warmth and generosity but Carolyn and Paul take it to another level. They were very welcoming and helpful when I arrived and even left cold beers in the fridge, which were great after a hot journey from Penn station with loads of heavy luggage.
The apartment is great and in a fantastic location. We loved walking out from the apartment and exploring Brooklyn on foot, plus there are various subway stations within easy walking distance to get you anywhere you want to be.
They were very pleasant, friendly and reliable. They left the room very clean. It was a pleasure for us to host them :)
Great guests, great people ... Thank you for everything, we'll meet again, Vesna...
All good, no Chance to Meet in Personal , but The Communication was Great.
we didn't exchange a lot because the stay was short. In any case Carolyn was quiet and clean and everything was ok.
Carolyn and her housband are very nice, polite and respectfuls, I was be happy to have their in my house.
Carolyn was just so nice to deal with - I'm sorry I was unable to meet her face to face - I know I'd really like her. I also appreciated her honesty and open communication - she had an additional person show up unexpectedly at the house who wanted to stay over and she contacted me to see if that was alright. Solid citizen :)
Carolyn was a nice guest. Good communication throughout and made things very easy.
Carolyn and Mark are familiar to the area so seeing them off for a swim in the morning made me smile. Their appreciation of seeing the night sky, watching out for the toads :), the art work in my home, and yummy breakfasts made us all happy. They were respectful of my home and appeared to have rested well.
Thanks, Marcia! We loved the toads. Sorry to miss seeing the cows. It was Paul who came with me, by the way (not my other husband, Mark!)
Carolyn's husband, Paul, and his brother, Lee, stayed at my place for a week and, honest to God, when I walked in after they left if it weren't for the guitar they'd accidently left behind I would've thought no one had stayed here. It was professionally cleaned before they arrived and somehow cleaner when they left. And not a single item in the place looked liked it had so much have been touched, let alone moved. Maybe they're ghosts, don't know, but welcome back anytime!
Carolyn and her family were great guests. Easy to communicate and they treated my house very well. They are also Airbnb host so they left me such a nice feedback. They are welcome back to my house anytime. Thanks Carolyn !
We stayed at Carolyn and Paul's apartment under a "home exchange" arrangement after we found them through Airbnb. They were most helpful in arranging our arrival with recommendations, suggestions ans directions. We have become good friends. The apartment is light, bright and comfortable. The location is perfect and are fabulous people!
Hi, we have done a home swap with Carolyn and we have had a very nice experience.
