Guarav and his mum took care of us very well. He was always ready to help us with tips and with some administration we had to do here in India and his mum offered us warm coffee and very nice fresh watermelon juices everyday. Thanks guys!
For the rest, we enjoyed very much to stay outside the touristic area and get involved in the daily routine of the life in the suburbs.
I have been with Gaurav and his mom and brother for 2 full days, and it has been very pleasant stay, even I got sick the same evening I arrived in Mumbai. I have eaten some bad food from restaurant, which just made me feel very bad. So unfortunately, instead of seeing Mumbai as I planned to, I had to stay in bed for 2 days in Gauravs apartment. Gaurav and his mom took nice care of me. We shared some very nice stories and exanged some useful information about todays world, especially internet. Gauravs mom was very nice, and even she doesnt speak that much English, she was trying to be as helpful as possible, preparing food and drinks for us (for me special diet food, as I was sick). Garuavs brother was very friendly and nice man, unfortunately we didnt have that much time to talk.
Gauravs place is nice and clean, they have filtered water, nice shower, fast wifi internet, nice bad to sleep, home cooked food. Everything one could possibly need in India.
It took me around 1 h to get to his place from the Mumbai Airport.
Overall, I have been very satisfied with staying in Gauravs place.
My sister and I really enjoyed staying with gaurav and his mom! They were super welcoming and flexible, and also helpful! Gaurav even showed us the town one night. If you are only interested in seeing colaba you might find the trip into town a bit long, but if you are interested in seeing many different Mumbai neighborhoods than this is a great option and the metro is really easy to get to and from.
First of all big Thanks to Gaurav for letting me stay in his home for a few days in Mumbai.
The place is really nice and quiet . and Gaurav’s family is so friendly and adding to that the homely atmosphere was really comforting especially after busy travelling day across the city. Didn’t get much time to interact with Gaurav but he was always helpful when ever required. In a nutshell – a nice home stay with no frills. Hope to stay there in my future visits to the Great City of Mumbai.
To stay with Gauttam (Gaurav's brother.. he was away) and his mother Nellam was a great choice: They were heartful and helpful hosts and they tried in every way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Not only that communication with them was fast and very efficient from the very first contact … they really took care of me! They showed me how to get around with public transport, organized transportation when I needed it, made countless phonecalls to find out stuff for me, suggested places I should visit and every time I encountered a problem or I had a question - they were there to help me (or just sorted it out for me) ... also they seemed to be genuinely interested in an exchange with their guest, introducing me to questions of Indian culture and were very interested to learn about my homeplace.
Besides this, the infrastructure – even for a longer stay in the room - is very good: Spotless and clean room, stable Wifi-Internet, hot water, cleaning & laundry service… And if you opt for the full-meals: you will enjoy the wonderful Indian cooking by Nellam (always talking me into eating more and then suggesting coffee or tschai…)
When I researched their profile before I came to Mumbai, I started to be worried about the distances I had to travel, because of the comments of the other guests and because it’s all up in the north of the Megacity. But for me personally this area was not a problem at all, instead I grew to like it there very much. It’s safe, very well connected by local trains (the fastest way to get around in Mumbai and I did not find it too crowded, if you avoid rush. But maybe that’s because I am a European and I am used to trains) and I enjoyed to be in a non-tourist spot. The locals here either ignore you the way it would be in any big city in the world – or they are interested in a positive way (not like in Colaba after my experience). And if you feel like spending the night in the busily action of the clubs, bars and parties in Bandra: Just take a Rickshaw – its reasonable cheap.
There is always some nervous anticipation when you are going to stay at a stranger's house. Especially as an introvert, I worry about feeling crowded and not having enough personal space. You could not find a friendlier, kinder home anywhere. I absolutely loved staying with this mother and son, I want them to adopt me!
The host mother is a fantastic cook of very healthful meals. She is also passionate about hygiene, she and her domestic helper clean everything, everyday. You will be met by gleaming tiles and fresh linens. She's also a spiritual person who exudes kindness. It's as though her meditation is contagious throughout the home.
The host son I was with is a very caring, considerate, and interesting man. His English is more fluent and eloquent than many native English speakers. He is fun-loving and dedicated to making your stay enjoyable. From the first day, I felt like I was staying with family and I miss them already!
1st thing all reviews about Gaurav are true... a great, great person.
was a pleasure to meet such a free thinking open minded person who's real interest is people. we had very Interesting conversations. If you are on your way to Mumbai and get the chance to meet him you will not be disappointed.
Guarva was agood host. His Mother Neelam really took very good care of me and ensured that I was comfortable at all times. Iwas provided with local knowledge about use of transport and this made my stay in Mumbai most pleasant.

Gaurav and his mother are great hosts - always friendly helpful and hospitable. The whole flat is very clean and nicely furnished.
Gaurav is a very inspiring person, introducing me to many of his philosophies about self improvement and enterpreneurship. There's a lot you can learn from this guy.
His mother prepares great indian food which you can't say no to.
Hope you'll be able to realize all of your ideas and plans in the future!
All the best
