Despite Julie booking it wasn't actually her who stayed with me and instead were two girls - Ksenia and Lisa. Both were polite and respectful of the flat and I would welcome them again.
I don t have anything to say, maybe just about the mess when they left.
Great guest, tidy and respectful.
Julie was an absolute delight to host. From the beginning, communication was clear and friendly, and everything went perfectly smoothly for the booking which included herself and her mum. Very clean, considerate guests, hope to host Julie again sometime. A very full 5 stars!
Julie's parents checked in one day before she arrived. They appeared to be very nice easy-going people. They had many questions about adjusting to traveling in the U.S. and I spent about 45 minutes giving them all sorts of helpful information - way beyond what was normally warranted. We had a very easy repertoire. During that time, I informed them that we live just downstairs and if there is anything at all that they need, they should not hesitate to knock on our door. I even gave them my schedule as well as my husband's schedule. There is only ever a 3 hour window when no one is home.
The very next day I received a Customer Support Claim from Airbnb. Julies parents complained and demanded an electronic teapot - I did not list this item in my inventory therefore, I found the request quite random and bizarre. They complained that the apartment was cold due to air blowing through a window in the living room and it would make their daughter sick. However, they acknowledged that the heat was indeed on and more than sufficient in the bedroom. The window was simply ajar and they found it difficult to close and needed assistance in closing it fully. Rather than knocking on our door and asking for assistance, they opted to register a complaint with airbnb. They complained about the size of the sheets on the bed. They needed a larger size. This is a valid request and would simply have warranted a trip downstairs. They complained about the vacation renters in the apartment above them. These renters were a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers from Australia and left the apartment very early every morning and were gone throughout the entire day. They returned every evening at about 11:00 p.m. Julie's parents complained about them walking about when they returned home. I informed Julie's parents that on the evening Julie arrival, they also made noise into the night. However, I understood that the noise was just her settling in so it was to be expected. I have several reviewers who stated that the building is extremely peaceful and quiet. I told them I would ask the other traveler's to be more aware of others in the building.
Overall, I would not rent to this family again. They are highly inflexible. In comparison, visitors to a hotel would at least complain to the "front desk" before they escalated their complaint to management. I was taken aback that they would register a complaint without first discussing the matter or giving me a chance to resolve any issue they faced especially, considering how friendly our initial meeting was. That was very disturbing and unsettling especially since I value each and every visitor and work to make sure they are satisfied. In the end, we told them that if they needed anything else they should contact us and they said they would but nothing else was of issue. My husband interfaced with them during their entire stay and I did not meet Julie.
Nice girl!! Good energy! Clean and polite!!
