The apartment was perfect for our needs - located in a cool neighborhood with great restaurants (such as Basil Thai at the end of the block and Rocco's, less than 2 blocks away) and fun, funky bars. It's also very convenient to the Civic Center/UN train stop, located a mere 4 blocks away at 8th & Market, and a car rental agency less than a block away on 9th Street. Cable TV & wireless internet, used during the brief periods of time between exploring the city and going out for the evening, allowed us to keep up with the rest of the world. A great pied-a-terre!
Will's apartment was just like in the pictures.
The location is top notch. If, like me, you enjoy a thorough walk, most everything is in walking distance; Mission, Valencia, the Castro, Haigth, North Beach, even Golden Gate Park. Good public transport is also nearby.
Will left a good deal of valuable information, not only on the apartment but also where to get the best coffee in the neighborhood and such. Nice selection of books and comics and Netflix to boot!
Will's place was exactly as pictured and described: a hip studio within a half-mile of the BART and along major buslines, and walking distance to some nice restaurants and a grocery store. Note that there's no fridge in the unit, but there's a hotpot for tea and instant coffee, and utensils/flatware for takeout.
The loft bed was very comfy and all the amenities were great! It rained while I was in town, and I was able to stay in the heated bed to watch Netflix and peruse the bookshelf. The bathroom and shower space are both a bit small, but are part of the vibe of being in an industrial space.
You might hear some music coming from the nearby units, but it's not any different from hearing a neighbor's TV in a hotel. I didn't feel it detracted from privacy at all. Plus, the studio's location at the literal end of a small side-street meant there was zero noise from vehicles or pedestrians.
Will was very a hospitable host. He let me send a friend to check in and provided luggage storage to accomodate my late departure time. He checked in on my second day to make sure my needs were met, and gave restaurant recommendations for the neighborhood.
I have no hesitations about booking Will's studio again on my next trip to SF. Thanks, Will!
Will's place is quirky and awesome. I loved it and will stay there again. Great location, wonderful, flexible host.
Will was a great host and the apartment was great. The apartment was tastefully done up, very cosy and located close to major amenities. Will took the trouble to print out even the instructions for the home theater system and also helped print out some materials. All in all a wonderful stay and I would not hesitate to recommend Will to others. I look forward to coming back again.
Will was a wonderful guest and is welcome to come back and stay with us anytime!
