Single woman, quite and open-minded. No drama.
I would recommend staying in this apartment for a short visit, like a long weekend excursion to New York, but I think it may not be a good option for business or student travelers who need to stay longer.
The room was clean and comfortable. There was a private lock on the door. There was room in the fridge and cupboards for food. However, staying here was sometimes awkward because there is someone who lives in the apartment all time time, and sometimes has guests over and also spends a lot of time in the kitchen right outside the room. She were friendly, of course, but do not speak English well. Additionally, this is not the person who handles the listings, that is her daughter. There were also some mis communications about pre-arranged fees and my fiancé staying in the apartment. The daughter demanded I pay a much higher rate than I understood to be the case, and refused to acknowledge that we had a pre-arranged agreement. I should also caveat that I paid much less for this listing than it listed at now, making a lot more attractive. I only paid $850/month for months, which was a great deal. I may have looked for other option if it were listed as it is now. But, like I said, it was clean and comfortable, and the heat works great.
The reservation was canceled 30 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Sonia is a lovely lady. She stayed up late to let me in because I had a really late flight. The room is great, large, comfy bed and a place to hang all your clothes and drawers too! Unfortunately the tv wasn't working when I was there but it was about to be fixed, wasn't a huge drama for me, I was there to see NY not the tv. Internet is super fast and it's about a 10 min walk to the subway and for filmies there is the Astoria film museum 3 stops away (or nice 40 min walk). Felt safe walking home at 11 at night and I'm a 24 yo female, so that was great.
Thanks again Sonia
Had an amazing experience staying here. Great location, very safe neighborhood, 3/4 mile walk to the N/Q trains, close to the LGA airport, an amazing host! Defiantly recommend staying with Sonia!
Clean, quiet, safe. I'd stay there again. It's about 3/4 mile to the nearest subway.
I stayed here for about a month. I had no problems arriving - the place is well-located at the end of the N,Q lines in Astoria. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to Manhattan. The room was clean and had everything I needed - closet, wardrobe, wifi, even a tv. The bathroom and kitchen were simple but adequate (you're limited to using the stove in the kitchen, but that was stated in the ad and was no problem). I shared the place with one roommate who was nice, and very quiet. I never actually met Sonia personally, but did meet Artemio who was taking care of the place, and was very kind. Overall, I was very satisfied - it was a great place for a one month stay.
I had a great time in New York. The apartment was in a safe neighborhood and it was quiet. It is a small room but you have everything you need. My roommate was really nice too. I had a great time there :-)
very accommodating. nice and clean room.
