The staff here are nice and accommodating. The other guests are also friendly. I felt safe. The room was pretty clean, the kitchen is outdated and harder to [keep] clean. They have everything you need for cooking. The hammock is useful but a little weird. I've been on hammocks before that were perfectly comfy, there was something odd about this one, as if you'd fall off if you made the wrong move. The water goes on and off while showering, brushing teeth/washing hands/washing dishes. I think that was the only thing I didn't like but it's a third world country and $20 a night so you can't expect high quality. Walking distance to everything you need.
Excellent service, clean and friendly! I'll be back!
Many thanks very nice place ! and nice people !
My experience at the hostel was fantastic :) before I even got there, the staff was helpful, as I drove myself of the airport and immediately got lost trying to find my way, but they gave directions over the phone and met me outside. The actual accommodations were clean, but the other travelers were the highlight! I hadn't been there longer than 30 minutes when I was invited out with a group of people from the hostel. Although I didn't stay there for my entire stay in bavaro, I found that I was always there to meet new friends. I would definitely recommend if you are looking to meet interesting people.
Cheap great and fantastic place in the paradise location where you can meet people from around the globe. If you like to travel and plan on visiting Punta Cana/Bavaro, this is the best option you have.
I only spent a night in the hostel, so maybe my evaluation is not truly complete. All the same, Maria José was very kind and even sent me a taxi to pick me up at the airport. It's a clean and secure place, well located. I recommended for backpackers.
And I will certainly use it again in the future.
Blessings and thanks!
This place was great! So close to the beach and super-friendly. It's nice to be able to visit Punta Cana and avoid the all-inclusives.
My sister and I had a great time here. Gill and her staff were positively excellent. They went above and beyond for their guests. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable and it's just a five minute walk to the beach if that! There's great places to eat right across the street and a super market practically next door if you want to cook. It's hard to find so make sure you have their phone number handy or really good directions. Wonderful place! Thanks, Gill!
Bavaro Hostel in Bavaro/Punta Cana was a great choice for our stay in the DR. It was an easy walk (less than a minute) from the Bavaro Express Bus stop. The staff was very helpful, attentive, and kind. The location was close to the beach (steps away). We stayed in a private room on the 3rd floor and was happy to have a pillow to rest our heads on at night. Near by was a supermarket, laundry mat, and several restaurants for food. For 30 pesos, there is a bus around the corner that will take you to shopping malls and other parts of the city. The only issue that we have with this place was that wifi connection was hard to grab from our room on the 3rd floor so we had to connect from the common area on the 4th floor. Thank you staff for making our stay on this Caribbean island warm!
It is unfortunate we did not get to stay at the Bavaro Hostel while in Bavaro. We needed to extend an extra night, and they did not get back to us on time (their phone was not working). So we found another place for two nights. On the whole, Bavaro-Punta Cana is one big, expensive tourist trap of gated all-inclusive hotels. We wish we could have avoided it altogether. While in Bavaro we passed by the hostel, and it seems, indeed, to be the best, cost effective option in town.
