Hi! I've been hosting on AirBnB for over a year now, hope I can be your host too!
Feel free to send a message if you have any questions about my apartments in Tokyo!
Our second time staying in this great spot and totally enjoyed it again. Everything was just as good and just as well organised as our previous stay. Nora had updated a few things in the apartment which made it even more comfortable.
Can't speak highly enough of the Koenji neighbourhood either. It really is a great place to base for a visit to Tokyo. So well connected with so much good food and shopping to find and a great local vibe to experience.
Totally recommend the apartment and the area.
The reservation was canceled 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This is an excellent little apartment in a great location. For those who are unfamiliar with Koenji, it is a very short walk from the Chuo line which offers fast access to all of Tokyo. You're really not far from anything. That said, you may not want to leave Koenji given the tremendous amount of local bars, coffee shops and restaurants. It's really an up-and-coming, hip neighborhood. What Shimokitazawa was like before it was commercialized during the past decade.
The apartment itself is clean, bright and well-stocked with everything you'll need including blazing fast wifi. The loft bed is comfortable and cozy. I had absolutely no problems finding the place, nor getting the keys. Nora also provided me with pocket wifi, even though it wasn't advertised. The pictures reflect the reality of the place. I would definitely stay here again.
Very convenient flat. Koenji is a nice aera in itself, not so far from the other parts of the town thanks to the efficient transportation system (provided you don't mix up the rapid service with the local trains in JR network !). I recommend it for a short stay in west Tokyo.
Thank you Nora for your warm hospitality! :)
Nora gave really clear and detailed directions about getting to her building and apartment - really small but very cosy! Definitely very sufficient for one, maybe a little tight for 2. True to her pictures, it's great to have a balcony and a super-duper awesome view of Shinjuku (sunrise, blue skies, sunset, night view)!!! :)
Clean towels and all toiletries are provided for, and Nora had all the basic cooking ingredients, utensils and household items - you really feel like you are living at home! i stayed during winter and was freezing a little (blame it on my tropical roots :p), but Nora was kind enough to provide a heater for me to warm up the room faster.
Safe building to live in and really clean apartment! Location was great - right in between Koenji and Shin-Koenji stations, which means i can get home on both lines. Building is easily recognizable by the Tattoo shop on its right, and Lawson is right opposite the building. Lots of interesting quirky shops in Koenji as well! Will definitely stay at Nora's apartments the next time i return to Tokyo! :)
We stayed for three nights at Nora's and were very comfortable. The apartment is small but cosy and has everything you'd want. As others have said, Koenji is a great area, in fact we preferred it's quieter neighbourhood streets with many shops and cafes etc to other parts of Tokyo.
Nora is very prompt at replying and keen to help..a great host. We would definitely recommend it to others.
We loved our time in Koenji. It is such a great place to stay and get amongst life in Tokyo. Has a great local feel with vintage shops galore, small bars and great food everywhere. It's also well connected via the train system with the big lights and wider connections of Shinjuku just a few stops away.
And the apartment is right in the middle of it all with absolutely everything you'll need for a short or long stay - we stayed for 5 weeks. Bright, clean and well appointed it was comfortable - though very cozy for two - and had some very fine views.
Nora is a super host. Responsive and very accommodating. She gave us some great tips and advice that helped us out no end.
Definitely recommend Nora and her apartment.
The area was great. It was near the metro, 100 yen shop, eateries, sento, food stores, and practically all you need. Quiet area, but still near Shinjuku and easy connection to other places around the city.
The host was friendly and easy to get in contact with if any questions asked along the stay. Super information was given before the stay, so it was easy to find the appartement and check in.
Great wifi connection, fast and stabile, so no problems using it for whatever you need.
The appartement itself is my drawback. It had a lot of space for two persons (japanese standard), and basic things needed, but as we came in the wintertime (around 5-10C) it was very cold and drafty. Although we had the heat on and the door closed to the rest of the appartement, it didnt help that much as the appartement was so drafty in general (not only from windows). The appartementbuilding was old, and I guess nothing have been done there since.
I would recommend people, especially with health issues, to have this in mind.
Nora was thorough and considerate when she sent us information about how to get the keys and check in. The apartment was very clean and welcoming. As everybody has noted, it's tiny, but my husband and I got used to the space quickly and found that one of us could work downstairs and one up with no problems. The wireless was handy, and there was laundry detergent and plenty of whatever else we needed, even including a pot of small change by the door. Koenji is awesome. Our first night, we went to a ramen shop around the corner and after a bit of clumsy cross-language small talk, our new friends asked the owner to send potato salad and hot sake over to our table--not something likely to happen in a touristy area! It was wonderful. The thrift shops are fun, and the neighborhood food is great.
Stayed here for 3 days. Nice neighborhood and a nice apartment. Nora was helpful and responsive and a great host. Bathroom is small so it may be a squeeze if you are tall!
