Steven's place is amazing, exactly like the pictures and very well located, near Prospect Park and 4 subway lines, is safe and full of things to do.
The room is very clean and very large with all the amenities, especially the excellent heating, and our hosts were very friendly and kind to us, helping us with everything we needed, they were very good friends could say. If I went back I would stay here again. absolutely recommended.
Steven was amazing! He welcomed us after a red eye flight with a lovely breakfast including his own gourmet herbal butter and toast; made us feel absolutely at home, and part of the family. We were truly delighted by the darling apartment downstairs, with lots of room for three of us plus visitors, access to the little back yard, and such comfortable beds we slept without a wink for twelve hours the next day! When I urgently needed a printer on our last morning, it turned out there was one right in our room! Even Harpo the Gorden setter made us feel so very at home. We can't praise Steven enough as a super host, and this little getaway apartment as the perfect place to stay near Brooklyn Museum and Botanical Gardens. We would definitely stay here again anytime we visit New York. Highest marks and kudos to Steven and family!
When arrived in Brooklyn on Christmas day. Steven had prepared a special Christmas dinner for us because he was afraid we could not find anywhere to eat. That is more than kind. Let me give you some reasons to stay with Steven.
1. The room is very large and warm. The bed is big, comfy and has real feather pillows.
2. Very close to the subway. Trust me that makes you stay a lot nicer.
3. Steven was kind enough to loan us his membership card to the MOMA. That got me and my daughter in for free, but the best part is you get to go to the front of all the lines. I have never enjoyed the MOMA more.
4. Steven will give you tips on where to get GOOD coffee, and places to eat.
5. You can always call them if you need something.
This was our best stay at an AIRBNB.
Our stay with Steven and Daniel couldn't have been better! We had our flight back to Brasil cancelled due to the hurricane and got in touch with them on a last minute basis..Thank God they could receive us ! The apartmente is super nice!, Spacious, warm and colorful! The guys are absolutely great hosts! Friendly, helpfull, suportive and a great chat!! We felt like recieving a very special type of attention from them both! An unforgettable experience in Crown Heights!!
Muito obrigado amigos pelo carinho, atenção e cordialidade com que nos receberam! Vocês foram o máximo!!
I cannot put into words how grateful I am that we chose to stay at Steven's place rather than some hotel. The apartment is FAR BETTER than advertised. HUGE and BEAUTIFUL with a gorgeous back yard. Steven is the consumate host, providing us with recommendations on bars, food, and places of interest. He even had a bottle of Jameson waiting for us on our bed at our request. After this stay there is no way we could ever stay anywhere else on a visit to New York. We feel that we not only had a good stay but made 2 great new friends.
Steve is a great host, and gave us good tips on where to go, and where to eat (cool and hidden kind). The apartment is exactly as it looks, spacey, and great access to manhattan. Highly recommended.
Steven's apartment is exactly as it looks - colorful, well decorated, bright, private and spacious ( easily accomodated my daughters and myself). Steve was a great host- allowed us early check-in, provided restaurant options, gave us our privacy but was just a knock/email/call away... The apartment opens onto a delightful garden oasis ( hard to believe you are in the midst of the city). The subway is a mere block away, a smorgasbord of culinary choices around the corner and if you really sink low , you can sneak over to Dunkin Donuts in your pj's ( it's right across the street!) His son was most gracious and as amicable as his Dad. If you are looking for a great place to stay as a couple or small group, go for it! You won't be disappointed!
Had a great time staying and Steve's place. He and his partner are super friendly, generous, and fun. The place is very nice and clean, spacious, and in a fun "up-and-coming" neigbourhood away from the beaten track where tourists normaly go.
This was already our second trip to NYC but our first airbnb-experience. We couldn't have done any better than staying with Steve and his family!
We started most of our ten days there with a breakfast in their lovely garden, surrounded by chirping birds and raspberries.
The apartment is even more comfortable than it looks in the photos and would be big enough to take in three persons. It includes a fascinating variety of books, a nespresso machine to start your mornings in the garden, many NYC and Brooklyn guides and even a computer with internet access. Additionally, the appartment is very clean and the towels have been changed during our stay. Steve lent us members passes to the Brooklyn Botanical Graden which is really lovely, the Brooklyn Museum and even to the Museum of Modern Art, where we therefore paid 5$ instead of 50$.
It's located on a very quiet street close to the Franklin Avenue subway station, which means you'll need about 15-20 minutes to go to Manhattan.(There are all 3,4,5 and 6 trains and also a shuttle line you could take.)
The hosts are very friendly and open-minded. Don't hesitate to ask if you want to talk, need any advice or some more cutlery! We already recommended the apartment to some friends who are going to visit the city next year. We would always stay there again ourselves, you won't find a better place!
Wishing our lovely hosts all the best and many more visitors,
Lukas and Lydia
I have welcomed Steve now for the second time, as with my last experience with him he is a fantastic guest to have and will literally treat the place as if it is his own home. Steve is also a great personality to get to know and a man of values that you are very likely to befriend if you have the opportunity to welcome him to your property.
Steve is not only a fantastic guest, but a fantastic person. As a host I was delighted to shave someone as responsible as Steve in the apartment, leaving it in immaculate condition. He brings with him a wealth of wisdom on life and business that he will proactively share with you. He is particularly kind and will surprise you with his generosity in a number of ways. It was great getting to know Steve and he has become friend during his stay. I am happy that he will be returning in January and he is welcome on my apartment anytime.
Steven was a wonderful guest. He had great communication and was very respectful to the house! We would love for you to come again!
I have know Steven for 5+ years and he is someone I aspire to be like! He is a tremendous host and goes out of his way to make guest feel comfortable. He is a well-read intellectual steeped in history, philosophy, business, and the arts.
His home is perfect for folks who want an authentic New York experience. It is spacious, private, and even has an outdoor garden. Additionally, it is but a few moments away from leading cultural institutions like the Brooklyn Museum, home to New York City's second largest art collection.
Do enjoy a stay at Steven's home as I have many an evening~!
