Spotlessly clean apartment in a convenient neighborhood. Check-in and check-out were flexible and at my convenience. I recommend Sara's place.
Everything was fine.
The apartment is very well situated, near the subway just 10 min away from Time square! We were 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and it was a very good place to stay. clean and quiet in New York ! I recommend this place !Thanks.
Flat extremely clean and peaceful. Sunny as expected. You just will have to make sport to climb the stairs to get in :). Everything went good. There is a bar down that worth a beer at night and a tea room next to the building for having a cheap and good coffee. Obviously, there is also a 24/24 shop down.
Fabulous location! Apartment is clean and comfortable.
We had a wonderful family holiday in New York, the four of us, and Sara was a great host: very communicative, helpful and reliable. Everything went just fine.
The apartment is in a good location, just a couple of blocks to the subway, and we enjoyed staying in the East Village, too. You have the feeling of the real NY, away from the tourist buses and of the glitter of Times Sq. And much cheaper for shopping, too.
In comparison to the pictures, the apartment looked a bit more deserted (less furniture, kitchen appliances etc), however all the basics were there and most of all it was absolutely clean.
The 6 flights of stairs were not a problem - as tourists we spent all of our day out and did not go up and down so frequently. On the contrary, from the sixth floor the view was nice and we got lots of sunshine; the apartment was really warm even when the outside temperature was chilly. Maybe this might become a disadvantage in summer, but in spring it was really enjoyable.
Because of the sunlight, and of the fact that the windows only have light shades, if you are used to blinds you'd better bring an eyemask (helps overcoming the jet lag, too).
Just one thing that I would have liked to know in advance: it is a vegetarian house and no meat, fish or eggs should be brought in. We are no meat fans, but travelling with the family and on a budget, this makes things a bit more complicated/expensive, as most take-away food contains these items.
Overall: very good value for money, and we hope to be back again somewhen !
Great host, everything has been taken care, the apartment is clean and full of light, good for accomodating 2 or 3 people.
Sara was a great host! The apartment is great. Awesome location in east village. Metro stop is close by. Bed is good and also kitchen and bathroom are. Perfect for a couple. We really had great time!
Sara is an exceptional hostess, friendly and was easily available. She made me feel very welcome from the moment I schlepped up the 6 flights to get to the apartment, which was clean, adorable and very comfortable to stay in. I thought the lack of an elevator would be troublesome, but was only so when I was going upstairs with my bags. The rest of the time it was easily manageable. The apartment is on a great street in E Village - Alphabet City located perfectly between everything I needed to get to and about a block and a half away from the L train. I found it to be a safe neighborhood, even when walking around later at night. Street noise isn't a problem, being so far up, but you can occasionally hear people on the street, since the apartment is next to a bar, especially if the window is open and there are sirens that go by. There is no central air or window units, and the radiator pumps pretty substantial heat into the apartment, but I found by leaving a window or two open keeps the apartment a a nice temperature. It can be cold though, depending on when you stay. For your comfort, Sara has provided additional blankets if you like to be toasty when you sleep. Wifi is available and I never had a problem with connectivity. Also, there's a working printer available if you need to print boarding passes or anything of the like. No meat allowed in the house, but Sara has a great book on places in NYC to get vegetarian food. Also, a quick search on Grubhub can also give you some wonderful vegetarian options that deliver. There's also tons of restaurants that are easily accessible if you feel like eating out. There were food items there that Sara invited me to help myself to. The kitchen contains a fridge, small oven and stove only; no microwave and seasonings are sparse, but it's very easy to get used to. Since I cooked more often than ordering or eating out, it only took about an hour to get used to it. The dishwasher is used for storage so prepare to wash dishes if you use them. Additionally, the water temperature and pressure can be a bit temperamental, but it's not really a big issue. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sara's and highly recommend this location to anyone who would like to stay in the city with easy access to the rest of Manhattan and Brooklyn and isn't daunted by a climb up some stairs. Also, for the readers -- Sara's got a great collection of books that I barely had the chance to peruse.
I don't know what to write. The energy was not right..
i have known Sara for many years now.. one thing for sure is that she is very sweet and gentle as a person. i have never been to her place so cant comment but it will definatly be spik and spam.
I've know Sara R for almost twenty years through our spiritual affiliation. I have never been in her home, but she is very neat, clean, and stylish in her person, and I would have no hesitation in staying at her home or letting her stay at mine. She is a veteran traveler and has stayed with many people in their homes all over the world, so she understands travelers needs. I'd feel confident dealing with her on airbnb.
I've known Sara for years. Besides being a great friend, as long has I can remember, Sara has always been reliable, responsible, and clean. You can't go wrong with staying in her cute apartment.
What a great place; super clean with a great location! Sara is very responsive and friendly.
