I'm a Senior Fellow (Research and Teaching) at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government on leave from my PhD at Oxford University. I love music, languages, art, literature, sports, politics, travel, theology and gastronomy. I play guitar and love to sing - used to do so semi-professionally. I'm from Texas originally, so I have a big, friendly, outgoing demeanor. I also own a home in Texas and am very respectful of people's property :)
My favorite places I have ever traveled are Stockholm, where I have lots of family that I love and Cambodia, mostly because it's just so inspirational. I also love Latin America, France and east Africa, where I lived when I co-founded a development NGO.
I am a lazy traveler. I love to take the world in and meet people and enjoy food and places. I won't spend much time at my hotel/flat I'm renting because I love to be out and about, but I don't like crazy, hectic, "punch-out-a-list" type travel.
My life motto is probably something like: “If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”
