Loved this charming spanish condo! My girlfriend and I stayed here for a month. The place was nice and clean when we arrived. Not many dishes but for two it was enough. The place is pretty big for two and there is a walk-in closet which was great. The soundproofing is not perfect so you do hear the neighbours on either side sometimes but it's nothing major. There is a washer and dryer, stove, fridge. A toaster and microwave would have been nice :)
The private back patio has a beautiful garden with rosemary and mint and gets lots of sunlight. There are two chairs and a small table to sit outside and relax. The only downside is you are close enough to hear cars driving past on the 33, it's usually not too loud though.
There is a reserved parking spot available.
Also the Ojai trolley stops in front and can take you to Ojai and the surroundings for $1. It runs 7 days a week.
Finally there is a dedicated bike/walk path (the Ojai valley trail) that runs all the way to the coast. There are some great scenic views along the way.
Ojai is much warmer than on the coast, often by 10 degrees or so. It's a pretty town with lots of shops and restaurants and an old school theatre. Try out the margaritas at Los Caporales (the food less-so) or the italian at Osteria Monte Grappa. There is also a sushi place (Sakura Ojai) a few steps from the condo. Drive a few miles to lake casitas and go kayaking, it's beautiful.
I didn't get to meet Margot in person, but she was easy to get ahold of by text and phone. For example, I locked myself out. Yes, it happens, and unfortunately it happened to me. Margot's parents, who luckily were in the area, were kind enough to rescue me, and Margot was extremely nice about the situation.
The condo itself was very clean and included necessities such as towels, dishes, and basic cookware. The Ojai travel magazines on the coffee table were helpful, and the tangerines in the kitchen were a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, and usually I have trouble sleeping somewhere new the first night, but didn't have that problem here at all! The location is right off of the main road and easy to get to both downtown Ojai and Ventura. Would definitely stay here again!
The apartment was very clean, comfortable and spacious--even better than the pictures. And the location worked well for me--very close to coffee shops and the bike path. Overall, an excellent experience.
It was lovely spending the weekend in Ojai at Margot's condo. it was close to town, so easy to access. The condo was nice and cozy and just as pictured. I had everything i needed for an enjoyable stay...Margot left me a nice note, local tangerines and some fresh cookies, which was very sweet of her...and although we didn't meet she was incredibly accessible and responsive by text when i had questions! i would love to spend another weekend there. Thank you for your hospitality Margo!
Great experience at this very cute and very private apartment. Nobody on top of us and the complex is very quite with quite neighbors.
The place is very cozy with all the necessary appliances, kitchenware, linen and furniture. Bed is comfy with a door leading to a nice private patio.
We haven't met Margot, but the little touches when we checked in implied that we are in the hands of a very thoughtful and neat person. And the most welcoming gesture was the orange cake that her mom baked for us.
We spent a great week and we were happy with our choice in Ojai. I highly recommend this cute, clean, organized and neat little hideout.
Great guest...Margot is welcome back anytime!!
Easy guest. Hardly knew she was around. Clean. Friendly. Great.
