The listing information to this apartment was perfect, great position to transport and walk into the heart of Waikiki. Great having beach gear available for use. Free car park was great. The pool are was awesome. The kitchen was great we cooked a lot of our own meals.
Very comfortable apartment would recommend to anyone.
The location and the view of the apartment is still perfect!! Waikiki Beach just 1 block... 3 min walk. The apartment is next to the Hyatt Waikiki. Supermarket (abc store) 50 meters.
You don't have to be fussy!
The carpet is still disgusting!!
You don't want to go without shoes on it!
The air condition was loud!! And don't cooling the 1 room apartment!
We don't use the Kitchen because it's not really clean. All the apartment smells fusty and "old"
Key pick-up was 5 min by taxi.. Why? There is an reception at the pacific monarch house so you have extra costs!
Conclusion: location perfect but not really clean!
My husband and I have never stayed in Waikiki before but really enjoyed how close the location was to shops and bus transportation. The property itself was a great deal with the amenities that were offered (Pool, hot tub, laundry room, convenience store) but there were a few things worth noting that could really catch someone off-guard.
The suite is located right next to the garbage chute which, as you can expect in warm weather can really stink. I would suggest bringing a can of Lysol to spray the area.
Having a full kitchen is great but the pots and pans are rusted, so don't expect to throw down often in the cooking department.
The furniture was worn, especially the papasans on the lanai-- huge holes with stuffing falling out.
An A/C should really be installed in the living room as it gets extremely hot when you aren't on the lanai or in the bedroom.
The A/C in the bedroom also leaks and has 3 catch buckets on the lanai that need to be emptied periodically to prevent overflowing.
The bathtub needs some caulking around the tub and maybe a deep cleaning of the couch but overall we had a pretty good experience.
Despite these issues we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider booking again if these issues are addressed. Again, its a good bargain especially with the building amenities.
With a little love and TLC this could be a 5 star winner.
We are working on the issues that she spoke of and hope she comes back.
Great place to stay when visiting the Waikiki beach area. Clean rooms, large living room, large modern kitchen, and two balconies! Look forward to visiting in the near future.
Everything was as advertised including the pool with the beautiful mountain in the background which is only a few steps away from the unit. Jeffrey has a team of people during normal business hours that resolved a few minor issues. The pool key is kind of tricky - you have to push the 'card' hard into the lock in order to engage the knob to open the pool gate. The listing says no WiFi, but there is clearly a wireless router and cable TV, but when I asked for the password, I never got it. That is fair, because it was not promised. There are a few open networks we used.
Our first night, we arrived very late. The drive there was through an area that seemed a little economically depressed with some homeless population. The condo itself is within a gated community with many many staff members on site day and night.
There is plenty of room to have a family of 4 or two couples. There are 3 TVs, 3 fans, and a bunch of beach gear that you can use. The mattresses were clearly old or a bit cheap. We chose the master bedroom with seemed to have the best mattress, but they could all use an upgrade.
Others have said this, but there is no A/C. We moved all 3 fans into the bedroom with us to sleep with. If there were more people with is, it wouldn't have been as comfortable because we would have had to share the fans.
I would stay here again and recommend it to others with the caveat that there is no A/C. I give it 4 stars because it is a great place and is as advertised.
Finally, this is a complaint about AirBnB's booking system. I will not make this mistake again, but if you try to book for the same day, it can be 24 hours before a host gets back to you, but you will have already committed funds for the evening that you book. If they DO accept your booking, you get charged for a day that you never got to stay there. We assumed that after midnight, even if it was within 24 hours, there was no way they could legitimately accept our reservation because they couldn't possibly deliver, AND the unit changed its status to booked so we assumed they rented to someone else AND ALSO, AirBnB said you can cancel a request, but it was not visible, and we could not. Had we booked elsewhere, we would have been screwed. Luckily, I had a call with their office, and we started there the following night for a week. After filing a formal refund request for the first night that we charged for but didn't get to stay there, we got a refund for that day. AirBnB needs to fix their system. I appreciate that there was a resolution mechanism, and that Jeffrey promptly refunded 1 day's rent upon filing a formal request.
The listing was just as pictures and description. Even if I have two small kids, Jeffery welcomed us (though I could not actually meet him). My kids also enjoyed the location because the condo is very close to the Honolulu Zoo and the Kuhio beach and there is a pool in the condo. I rented a car during our stay, but there is a bus stop (1 minute by walk) and Trolley stations around the condo, so it would be accessible to a central area of Wikiki, Ala Moana and anywhere even if you do not have a car. As is listed, free parking is available in this condo. But when parking a car, I recommend you park it as lower level as possible because I could enter the accommodation only from the lobby floor.
The arrival was seamless, we collected the keys at Century City, and walked to the apartment, but next time I would take an Uber.
The building was nice, and the apartment was easy to find. The apartment was a good size, just a bit too much furniture for a short stay. Also the balcony was closed due to external building works which was disappointing, as I like a balcony at the end of the day.
The bed was comfortable enough and the air con was good. Great washer/dryer.
We viewed the swimming pool on the top floor but was often crowded so we didn't swim. Great views though.
The location was excellent. 10 mins walk to Waikiki Beach. And some great cafes nearby (10 mins walk too).
I would stay again.
We stayed at the place for 8days. We were traveling as a family-4people and the place was just the right size. I saw many comments here that the kitchen wasn't properly equipped to cook things ,but there were pretty much everything you need to cook things.
The location is definitely the best part. We walked to Waikiki every night.
We had some problems during our stay including the internet and throwing garbage. But a girl who gave us the key was so helpful every time we had problems. Overall, it was a great choice and we had wonderful time.
This place has a really nice view and is in a good location for walking to Waikiki beach and the surrounding area. It's a nice sized apartment with plenty of kitchen space to cook any meals you'd like to have while there. We really enjoyed cooking breakfast each morning and eating on the patio. The price was considerably less than other hotels during our trip. Once we got past the bad this place wasn't terrible.
Owner doesn't drop off the keys until two o'clock on the day of your arrival so if you're coming in early you'll have to wait. In our case the keys were even later as they were very disorganized and there was a problem finding them so we had to wait about two hours+ in the lobby with our bags after our long flight to get the keys.
We wished this was the only problem. After arriving at the condo we walked in to find out the place was a complete disaster and hadn't been cleaned. We had to leave the condo again for about four hours while the cleaning lady fixed the place up. It still wasn't done right (bathroom was barely touched) and we had to clean much of the place ourselves which is not exactly what you want to be doing on the first night of your honeymoon in Hawaii.
There's no central air, just an ac unit in the room which is very loud and leaks on the patio, you had to leave it on all night or the house would be extremely hot.
The place generally needs a lot of attention, the walls are banged up, the bathroom is pretty gross, the floors need attention and the outside patio chairs (although comfortable) were all ripped up. Pretty much all the furniture and ac unit could stand to be replaced.
The management company was semi helpful but could have done much better or offered monetary compensation for the inconvenience which they did not.
Overall, this place was a reasonable price but not that much less than a normal hotel. The picture's are pretty deceiving. So, if you're staying in Waikiki, I'd say pay slightly more, maybe get a smaller place but have it be top notch. Thats what we'll be doing next time for sure.
We were very sorry for the inconvenience they had with there stay. the cleaning women responsible has been fired. the unit is being updated.
Jeffrey's studio was as described, no surprises. The location is really the most important part of this place since it's very close to Waikiki (within walking distance). We did not have any communication with him during our stay but it was not needed.
