Sam was helpful in offering us transportation but communication was confusing as he had cell phone issues. The cabin property has great potential for families. But the property (which includes a volleyball court, patio and dock area) were not clean/available for use. Location is close to downtown Orlando. Not the best deal out there but tolerable for a one-night stay.
The log cabin was a great once in a lifetime experience. My SO and I enjoyed some quiet quality time together in this rather secluded listing. The location of the cabin is convenient to many attractions and restaurants in Orlando. It is also located in a older area of town, but I did not feel unsafe at all. The photos posted for the bathroom make it look smaller, than it is in person; the cabin was overall more spacious than we had expected. The host, Sam, responded quickly to any concerns we had. There were also some very friendly cats on the property! Overall it was a memorable stay and our first experience with AirBNB.
The space was great and very nice for a short stay. Sam was very helpful and prompt in response!
This loft is like staying at your grandma's cabin - it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it has everything you'll need, with a ton more character. Checking in was simple and Sam was very accommodating when my flight was delayed by 7 hours. I also appreciated the complimentary laundry service. Checking out time was very flexible too. Spacious for one person, would recommend for up to 2 adults and 2 kids (4 adults would be a tight squeeze). Also, be OK with outdoor cats.
The lakeside cottage was a great last-minute booking for a two-day escape from a Michigan winter. Sam was a very accommodating host and the property on the lake was clean and quiet!
I’m going to write the review that I wish I had read before booking the reservation to stay at the log cabin, especially since the cancellation policy is pretty strict and if you want to leave after arriving you only receive a 50% refund. We came to Orlando for a family reunion and had hoped for a rustic, peaceful getaway to retreat to during our stay. We are from the northeast and have had a brutal winter so we just wanted to be surrounded by nature for a weekend. We love camping, the water, and outdoor sports and when I saw the pictures online of the dock and the water I thought we had found the perfect, affordable place. Well, the log cabin was not exactly the lakeside oasis that was described by some of the former guests and as shown in the property pictures of the dock and volleyball courts. First of all, the neighborhood seems run down, and there are a lot of strip clubs and pawn shops all along the main road that leads to the property. I would recommend researching the area before staying here. It is convenient to downtown Orlando, only 15 mins with no traffic, but that’s the only highlight. Once we arrived onto the property, there were about 5-8 cars/trucks in various stages of repair to the left, and several buildings at the end of the driveway that looked like they were also in various stages of repair, remodeling, and/or in need of repair. The volleyball court, dock, and surrounding outdoor spaces looked as though they were run down; not at all the campground experience portrayed in the pictures. All of these outdoor spaces had a ton of clutter, machines, and abandoned items (old exercise equipment on the dock, old furniture piled up, and just a lot of stuff). It felt like we were on an episode of hoarders with all of the items everywhere. Not at all what was pictured online, or rather there were no pictures of the property as a whole online, which felt misleading especially since there is such a strict cancellation policy. Once you are there you are stuck unless you are willing to concede 50% of the total reservation cost. After walking the grounds, we were disappointed by the property and wanted to cancel our reservation but decided to deal with it because we couldn't afford to lose that money and pay for another accommodation. Once inside the cabin, the clutter continued. There was an old desk with a ton of old computers, and other items throughout the space. It looked like the host, Sam, had cleaned and straightened up, but there was still stuff everywhere. To be fair, the pictures online convey a more accurate image of the cabin; however, there was more clutter and you can’t see that several of the windows are cracked or just how small the bedrooms and bathroom are. You also can’t see from the pictures that the windows look out...
Sam made us feel welcome, and had a great stay!
First time using the service, Sam was an excellent host. He called me near arrival time and guided me to the location. Location was perfect for me because it was so close to the airport.
Meredith was visiting with a group from FL to participate in the Rock & Roll Marathon! She was a great guest...independent & interesting to talk with...I'd welcome her back any time
Meredith and Sam are wonderful guests. Very friendly, easy-going, likeable, and fun to chat with. Great people--highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Meredith and Sam. They have great humour and we enjoyed their company.
Meridith and Sam were super cool and friendly folks! They were busy hitting up all the Fringe Festival events - but the time we spent together was really nice! I also thought it was great that Meredith always called me Mattie :-)
Hope to see you both again next time you are in NYC!!
Meredith and Sam are wonderful, fun, and resourceful people. If you're coming to Orlando, then it would be a shame not to see it through their eyes. Whether you're here for business or leisure they've got enough connections to recommend the perfect setting, bar, restaurant, club, theater, event, performance, or theme park. They are genuine and easily portray a sense of comfort and ease. They are open minded eccentrics, and seem to be friends with all that inhabit the city beautiful: Orlando, FL.
Meredith and Sam are excellent, reliable individuals. They stay clear of people's personal lives, gossip and drama and have a clear respect for all walks of life making them hospitable, trustworthy and life long friends.
