Julie was a wonderful host. She was so helpful in giving us advice about where to go in town and sharing things to do/see for us first-timers in Austin. The apt. is so cool and perfect for our stay! We would love to come back when we have more time and stay again!
Stayed at Julie's place for 2 nights, while attending the Wanderlust Festival in Austin. Julie is very nice and welcoming. The house is beautiful and clean. Very dog friendly, which meant a lot to me, since I traveled with my doggie. The house is located close to a variety of restaurants and food trucks, that you can simply walk to from the house. I will definitely stay there again while traveling to Austin and would recommend to others as well.
My first ever stay through AirBnB could not have been more perfect.
I stayed with Julie in her sytlish ultra modern home in South Austin, which is ideally situated close to the hip and trendy South Congress, or SoCo area. Dotted around the area are a great many restaurants, cafes and bars. Access to the city could not be simpler with the Downtown area an easy hop by bus etc. or even by foot. At least 4 Downtown bound buses run very close by the house. Either the number 1,5,10 or 801 buses will get you downtown within a few minutes.
Austin city itself has an extraordinary vibe. The size of the city and it’s simple grid pattern make it easy to navigate on foot with the Downtown area offering an astonishing collection of distinctive bars, restaurants and deli’s etc.
At the Music Capitol of the World head to 6th St or the nearby Warehouse District for your live music fix. Also check out Rainey St with it’s distinctive selection of bars, especially the Container Bar, created out of interconnected stacked shipping containers! Food trucks abound everywhere in Austin offering every mouth-watering culinary creation known to man. Some 1500 of them I believe.
Austin is a very ‘bike friendly’ city. I hired a bike for the week from one of the many bike shops offering rentals and tours. Most routes throughout the city feature bike lanes and the car driving population are seemingly very aware, courteous and used to cyclists along the city streets.
Austin weather, as they say, is either perfect or hot. Either way, I highly recommend heading down to Barton Springs. A cool spring fed, landscaped natural swimming pool and a hive of happy activity on a gorgeous day. The number 30 bus will take you there.
Finally, a word about Julie, your wonderful host; I stayed with Julie for one week and felt like we had been friends for years. A more warm hearted and welcoming host would be hard to find. Julie is a fountain of knowledge concerning all things ‘Austin’ and will help you in any way she can to make your stay as delightful as it can possibly be.
I will be back in Austin as soon as I can and I will be staying here again (unless you booked it first)
Perfect location, wonderful host, gorgeous house... Recommended wholeheartedly! So fortunate that Julie opens her house to airbnb. Don't hesitate to book this property when visiting Aspen, it's a gem.
Nice neighborhood, accurate listing, dog friendly and welcoming host - would definitely recommend
An amazing host in a wonderful place. Austin rocks!
The attention to detail was perfect. We loved it.
Julie was a great hostess. She was friendly, positive and a pleasure to get to know. The house was beautiful, clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend it. - Alex
Wonderful, clean, well located home with delightful host. We couldn't have asked for more.
Can't recommend highly enough! Julie's place is a great location for exploring the great restaurants/shops/nightlife of the South Congress/South First areas, but it's still an easy five-minute bus ride to downtown/the convention center. Julie couldn't have been a nicer, more gracious hostess -- very friendly and full of recommendations about where to eat, shop, and stroll in the neighborhood. Also, Julie's home is really beautiful -- very modern, like a house you'd see in "Dwell" magazine, with poured concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and nice outdoor areas to sit with a book, etc. Very private too, if that's your thing -- I basically had half of the house to myself. A very comfortable bed to boot!
