I'm a middle school math teacher and I love my job. I love to travel and I also really like being an Airbnb host. It's fun and the people are always so nice and respectful of my apartment.

We enjoyed our stay in Karima's apartment very much. It is bright and cheerful, with many interesting artistic touches from foreign countries. The apt. is on a lovely, quiet, tree-lined street in a great location near to subways, restaurants, shops, and a great grocery (Brooklyn Fare). Communicating with Karima was a pleasure, and she kindly bought a coffeemaker before we arrived. The bed was super-comfortable, and there are a nice sofa and a dining table. There is also room for two to eat in the kitchen, which is larger than usual for this type of apartment and well stocked. We recommend Karima's place highly.
Just back in California after a wonderful stay in Karima's lovely studio. Our first Airbnb rental - it felt much more like staying in our own home than in a hotel!
The block is very cute, and the apartment was just as described. The NuNu chocolates definitely helped us feel welcome. We would definitely stay there again.
booked a 4 day vaca in nyc. Karima was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with for any and every question we had. It was our first time using airbnb, and Karima made it easy and we would definitely stay here again.
Location was great and the apartment was very clean. The mattress was a little soft for my liking, but we had no trouble falling asleep after a day in the city.
We love Karima's studio! It's the perfect size in a great neighborhood and Karima has great recommendations for places to visit. We loved waking up and playing records on her record player then grabbing delicious coffee around the block. Karima's decor made us feel right at home and helped us to fall even more in love with New York. We definitely recommend staying at her place!
Karima's apartment was great. Excellent location, in easy walking distance to many great restaurants, shops, cafes, weekend happenings and more, and easy training distance to the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan. The apartment was cozy and clean with some thoughtful features for guests like us and she was responsive and accommodating throughout the process, both in the planning and staying. Overall great experience - thanks Karima.
Karima’s apartment is just marvelous: A beautiful, sun-filled apartment in a gorgeous neighborhood – we had an absolutely terrific time! Karima was such a lovely host and made everything so much more pleasant by arranging for an easy key pick-up, and even leaving us two chocolate caramels, so sweet of her (and they were delicious!). Before arrival she was super-helpful, too, in planning the trip, sending a google map with many suggestions for cafés, restaurants, boutiques, places to hang out and to do grocery shopping. She was absolutely always very kind and helpful. It was a fantastic trip and the apartment is so lovely. Thanks again for everything, Karima, it has been the most amazing experience!
Karima is a wonderful hostess and her apartment is great! She is very accommodating by provided a single cup coffee maker and fair trade organic coffee even though she doesn't drink the stuff. She also offered to buy a hair dryer for me to use. Even though she was out of the country during our stay, she was attentive and timely with any communications, questions or concerns.
The apartment had interesting posters and figurines. More importantly it was very clean. We had to do wash clothes and the laundry room in the basement was also clean. The elevator is great (especially after a long day of sight seeing). The AC worked well and cooled the room down quickly.
The neighborhood seemed very safe. The subways were about a block away (and the police station at Hoyt-Schemerhorn was added safety). Of the suggestion on her map, we wish we had more time to hang out at Apt 138, Building on Bond, and Nunu Chocolates.
We also checked out the Brooklyn Museum, a Filipino restaurant called Purple Yam, and then the Brooklyn Bridge Park to listen to "Barge Music" (classical performance on a docked boat).
If you're into CrossFit, you definitely need to check-out CF South Brooklyn (about a mile away). They were more welcoming than CF NYC Black Box. (CF Hell's Kitchen was good, but super small.) Also if you like crepes, you should visit "The Little Sweet Cafe."
We had a great stay at Karima's apartment. The neighborhood was beautiful, safe and very quite at night. The apartment's proximity to the subway, shopping, restaurants and grocery stores was excellent. The apartment itself was very nicely decorated and felt very much like home. I would highly recommend Karima's apartment to anyone planning to visit the Brooklyn area. Karima also left us several excellent suggestions for dining and entertainment.
It was a pleasure meeting and hosting Karima. She is a wonderful and interesting person and I enjoyed chatting with her about many things. She is welcome back again and I hope to see her in NY next month.
Karima is a dear friend whom I met when we both volunteered with a NGO in Zimbabwe in 1998. She was a huge part of why my experience there was so incredible and we have continued to remain close and have excellent adventures closer to home. In Zimbabwe, even with limited resources we always made the best of every situation and had a wonderful year that was challenging, but so much fun. We travelled quite a bit and met wonderful people, which Karima attracts - wonderfully interesting, passionate, intelligent people. Her laugh and smile are contagious and her authenticity and sense of humanity can not be beat. She is flexible, sharing, daring (I never would have gone skydiving if it wasn't for her!), creative and I couldn't think of anyone else (maybe besides my husband... just maybe) that I'd rather travel with or receive a visit from. GO KARIMA!!
