Our host, Roger, and his support stand-in, Garrett, were very attentive, hospitable and great to work with. They were accommodating of our late arrival. And Roger checked in with us from afar to make sure things were great during our stay. Roger's music and art-filled studio is eclectic for sure with some rough edges. Didn't matter. The most important things were awesome: it is in a wonderful Brooklyn location with easy access to everything and (if you like to walk like we do) walkable to Manhattan. The subway is easy to reach, also. And there's tons to do nearby. The bed is comfortable. It is quiet enough at night (though a little bright if you are sensitive to light while trying to sleep). And we were able to park our car for free on the street, which was great. Overall, excellent experience.
Old-school urban Brooklyn doesn't come more hospitable than this. Staying at Roger's was like being welcomed into a friend's home. The studio is clean, comfortable and so much fun. Even though we didn't get to meet Roger he was very accommodating and easy to contact, as was Garrett who showed us round when we arrived. The location is excellent - more than enough places to eat and drink and wander round day or night nearby and about 15 mins drive from Manhattan. Highly recommended to anyone who is using Air BnB to avoid the generic hotel experience and enjoy the city as a local.
We had a great time staying at Rogers studio. The location is amazing, close to the river with a beautiful view of the NY skyline and just steps away from vintage stores, restaurants and coffee shops…more than you could possible check out in a weekend. His studio was clean and spacious and I would highly recommend staying there.
A taste of old-school Williamsburg, when the neighborhood's artistic vibe was just starting to sprout. This is a great working musician's loft with a bunch of guitars and keyboards available for you to use. And it's perfectly located as well. If you're looking to work on some demos or new songs — or if you just like being surrounded by lots of vintage instruments — this is a really fun place to stay.
If you want a genuine NYC experience, Roger's your guy. It was like staying at a friend's space. Very comfortable. Very clean (it is a warehouse, though, so if you're expecting the Ritz, this may not be for you). The location was fantastic, street parking was plentiful and it felt very safe (Roger has great security in place however). Our host was gracious, despite our very late arrival, and generous with his killer sound system. He poured us each a glass of wine, gave some neighborhood advice on where to eat and drink then left us to relax before we headed out for the evening. Loved his cat, too. We'd visit again. thanks, Roger.
Roger was the perfect guest. Friendly and easy to deal with, pleasant to my neighbors, and left the house in perfect condition. He even tuned and repaired my guitar... so he in fact, left it even better than he found it! A lovely man...and welcome back anytime. ✫ ✬ ✭ ✮ ✯
Great gentleman! Very friendly and very clean! We would have enjoyed hearing some ukulele since he brought it with him. Maybe next time. I recommend Roger to anyone in the AirBnB community. Great Guest!
