Our host was lovely and very friendly. She left us to it after welcoming us which was perfect and provided everything to make either cereal or a cooked breakfast in the morning. No strict check out times, we could leave when ready on Monday morning. Location is great with great spots for running or walking in the area. You feel in the middle of the countryside whilst Newcastle centre is just down the road. The 2 barns were comfortable and well equipped. Also loved the dog! Would highly recommend this place.
Lesley and Andrew were the best hosts you could wish for. They were so welcoming, provided us with everything we needed and more (such as the fully stocked fridge for an English breakfast) we spent NYE there and they even came to join our party at one point which was a welcome addition. The barn was perfect for an intimate NYE party between friends and we can't wait to go back next year. We only hope that others don't have a similar good idea
Lovely barn, warm and cosy with comfortable beds.
The full fridge was a extra special nice touch which really took the hassle out of our stay.
We were only there for 1 night and would love to go back and stay longer.
A cheery welcome at the door plus Eddie made us feel very much at home as we have pets too. Some chat about Lesley's connections with Toronto. Amazing. A 101 about the 'digs' controls on the stove, the light etc. Very nice as there was no exam too. Information about the local area and travel for our rugby matches were most helpful.
We had a great stay at Hadrian's Barn. The rooms were clean and in great condition, everything looks to have been refurbished recently. The bathroom was light and airy, the shower was amazing with great water pressure. Lesley was welcoming and very hospitable. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely friendly host and a beautiful setting. Lesley made us all feel very welcome from the first minute with a winning smile and a well stocked fridge!
We were 5 friends staying in the house. It was incredibly clean and tidy. We all enjoy our night there. All the ingredients to cook a massive English breakfast were provided. Two of us stayed in two beds bedroom and then another two in the sofa-bed in the leaving room with an extra air mattress for the fifth friend. I strongly recommend Lesley Munro's house, she was really nice and welcoming.
We were looking for an out-of-the-way place to stay just for one night, and we really enjoyed our stay at Hadrians Barn. Our host Lesley was very welcoming and had stocked up the fridge for our breakfast. This small barn has been renovated and decorated in a relaxed and cozy fashion, and it is tucked away in a country setting. Very quiet and peaceful.
Really enjoyed out stay. The host, Lesley, was really friendly and welcoming, and it's in a nice spot - really close to Newcastle but also in the middle of the countryside near the Hadrian's Wall path. The apartment was clean and pleasant. The kitchen's not massively well equipped (there's no oven for example) - but saying that, as a group of five foodies we still managed to please ourselves!
