Steve's apartment is exactly as you see in the photos and the description. For my wife and I (this was our second time in Paris),
we cannot think of a better place to stay in the city. Even though it is half a block from a very busy street, it is very quiet, luminous and friendly. The sense of well-being we got by staying at this apartment was one of a kind.
You can't go wrong in a place like this, where you got everything you need just around the corner: fromageries, takeaway food of many ethnias, boulangeries, patisseries, restaurants, wine bars, supermarkets and whatnot. Catherine Cornu, the apartment's manager, is golden: she helped us in every possible way during our stay , and always went out the extra mile to help with every little thing and occurrence. We walked almost everywhere, the metro was like and afterthought, for when we were really tired and willing to go back as soon as possible. If we go back to Paris, we hope to being able to stay at Steve's apartment again, no doubt about that.
Apartment was great and in a perfect location! Has everything one would need, lots of towels, pillows, iron, hair dryer, tv, Internet, kitchen supplies. Host was very welcoming upon arrival and during departure. I would recommend this apartment for anyone traveling to paris!
This apartment's main asset is its location – just 40 steps from Rue Montorgueil, THE food shopping area in Paris. With a multitude of bakeries, butchers, fish mongers, cheese sellers, chocolate shops, wine merchants, cafés and excellent restaurants, it is super easy to eat well every day.
The apartment photos are accurate and we were met on time. The flat is quiet and the neighbours considerate. We enjoyed the month of February there, however, I was glad that I'd taken heavy slippers and a sweater because it is cool to cold inside. We had to pay for electricity, so we were careful. Even heating only the main room, and only when we were there, it cost 119 Euros. If we'd heated the bedroom, and had wanted rooms to be warm and cosy, it would have been more than double that.
Although the kitchen is small, it is highly functional, and we made many fine meals in it when we got used to it.
I would come back to the flat and fully recommend it to others with the caveat that if you go in the winter, take warm clothes for inside as well as outside.
The host sent Dominique to greet us. She was very helpful and attentive. When there was a (minor!) problem with the telephone, she came over right away to fix it. Dominique is an excellent caretaker.
The apartment itself is indeed quiet and well-situated. There was a New Year's party in the courtyard, but that was the only noise we ever heard. The apartment was clean and, although the heating is electric, it can be as warm as you need in the winter. We ended up paying for the heat due to the length of our stay and found the rate to be reasonable (it was the winter, so the electricity bill was not cheap; but again, we found it to be reasonable).
The location is wonderful. Really close to the rue Montorgueil, you can find everything you need: boulangeries, pharmacies, supermarkets, cafés, etc. Very conveniently located not far from the RER at Les Halles for getting to and from CDG airport. Also conveniently located near several metro stops.
This is really one of the better places to stay on the Right Bank.
The host certainly made us feel very welcome. The apartment is very well organised and the host has provided everything that you could possibly want. The geographic situation of the apartment is superb. The only thing lacking in the description of the apartment was the fact that there are 40 (!!) steps to negotiate to the apartment! This may well be normal for Paris but it took us by surprise and having several and large suitcases and bags, it was a pain in the neck.
The Airbnb listing shows the apartment one and one-half floors above street level in a 19th century walk-up building, so I do not understand Peter's surprise -- the description is accurate.
This apartment is in the best part of Paris. Walkable to all the main sites and if you get weary there are several metro lines nearby plus several VeoLib bike stands ( the reasonable bike hire) within in the block. And Rue Montergrueil is 20 metres away - what more can we say. The apartment is spacious and catered for everything we needed.
We will be back and we will be recommending it to others.
Excellent location in Paris! Apartment is sunny and well furnished. Very helpful and kind Property Manager to greet you.
Everything was wonderful. We felt very welcomed and cared for. We adored the apartment and the neighborhood was just lovely. The walking pedestrian street was perfect.
We would love to stay again at Steve's flat. It was a perfect stay.
We just stayed here for almost a month and it was wonderful. The flat is very comfortable and bright and set up well. The location is great, right off the fabulous food market street of rue Montorgueil. Steve the owner was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had, and Catherine is the local person who manages the flat, and she was absolutely fantastic and was extremely responsive to any requests or issues. The place is not new but it was clean and well laid out and made for a lovely stay. We look forward to going back.
Steve was an amazing guest, very courteous and respectful. He responded quickly, and was a joy to speak with. I enjoyed working with him, and I hope he had a fantastic time in NYC. Would def have him back. A great guest!
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Steve and Marge. They are fun to talk to. Steve called me to let me know when he left and told me that he enjoyed staying in the apartment. I appreciated his thoughfulness and graciousness and it made me feel very happy to him and Marge as my guests.
