I've lived in an old farmhouse in Chicago proper for 36 years, after moving here as a community organizer in the mid-1970s. Most of my career I've worked in communications -- book editor, typesetter, printer, writer, documentary filmmaker, information architect, user experience designer -- but now I'm retired. I do some freelance writing and editing but mostly these days I am trying to declutter so I can be ready for the next phase of life. I read a lot, I sing in the DePaul Community Chorus, and I grow heirloom tomatoes in my organic raised beds. I have a daughter in her mid-forties and two grandchildren who are almost adults!
