We stayed here for 2 weeks. The location is perfect, close to all of the places of interest and great restaurants. The apartment was well furnished for us but the kitchen was a bit smaller than we are used to in North America and with less facilities like a coffee maker. However, with the abundance of restaurants here, we only ate dinner a few times and only when we had a great wine to taste. The apartment is more like a hotel where we had breakfast included every morning in one of the local cafes and our room was made up and new towels were included. Christina was most accommodating, providing extra items when requested. The apartment has a security person 24 hours a day. There is a small gym and a pool area where you can relax in the afternoon. This place has location, location, location and a great host. When we return, we will definitely stay in one of these apartments.
This place was great in terms of location! Walking distance to all of the good restaurants and plazas. And the host, Cristina, was very nice and accommodating. The apartment itself is a good size for two people, with a great view of the city. The building is also very secure with a 24 hour doorman who helped us when we arrived later than expected. However, the apartment had an odd odor and we saw a cockroach our first night :-(
Unfortunately, in terms of communication, it was a little difficult for me because Cristina didn't speak English and my Spanish isn't very good. I also had a difficult time getting ahold of her in a timely manner because she only used email, no texting or What's App, which caused for delayed responses. And I would have to input everything into (website hidden) Translate. Might be helpful if she mentions in her profile that she doesn't speak English. However, for Spanish speakers I'm sure she would be wonderful!
Overall, we didn't spend much time in the apartment because we were out and about exploring the city and wine tours, so it was great to sleep and get ready for the next tour.
This turned out to be a wonderful location for exploring the central part of Mendoza. There were unfortunate 'hiccups' in my arrival which resulted in an uncomfortable two days for me, but were eventually resolved.
This apartment is ideally located. Three of us were traveling so it was wonderful to have two separate rooms. The doormen downstairs were helpful with information. We loved Mendoza and the wine tours we took!
Perfectly located in the center of Mendoza. Really nice staff, more like a hotel. Highly recommended!
What a gem - great location - huge space and everthing you need - as a visitor everthing you need to see and do is within walking distance. The apartment was more like staying in a hotel - with breakfast (in a cafe next door mixing with the
Locals) and servicing included as well as the added bonus of a great pool area. The welcome was excellent and everyone was really helpfull.
I would definitely not recommend staying there. Our experience was negative in several ways.
We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment with Cristina, over a month ahead of time, as we were traveling with a couple of friends. We had had several exchanges with Cristina over how/when to get the keys.
When our friends arrive, around 7p, they were told by the doorman, who was supposed to give us the key, that there was no room for us. We tried to reach Cristina, but the number listed on Airbnb is not her number, it was the reception number. We then called Airbnb, who also could not get a hold of her. Only the doorman managed to reach her. It turns out she had double booked the room we were meant to stay in. She says she did not remember confirming us, even though we had emailed about the keys a few time. She then came to the building, and sorted out 2 rooms for us.
The experience was especially frustrating for us, since we were about to board our plane to Mendoza, and did not know until we landed at 11p whether we would have a room to stay for the night. We only got information through our friends, and Cristina did not reach out to us or Airbnb with an update for a long time.
When we landed, we went to the apartment building, as instructed, to get the key to our "new" room from the doorman. Only to find that the doorman was not there. We tried again to reach Cristina, in vain. We ended up waiting 15 min outside of the building, waiting for the doorman to show up. Talk about a bad evening.
Finally, he showed up and led us to our room. It was way inferior to the standards of the pictures we had seen. There was no Wi-Fi connection. Our friends' apartment was nicer, but did not have a shower curtain. We asked for one, and did not get one in our 3 days there.
Our biggest frustration though, during the whole time, was that we could not reach Cristina, or talk to her. We specifically asked her for a phone number where we could reach her, and did not get one. It took her hours to reply to our Airbnb messages.
For the last day, we were moved to a better apartment, with Wi-Fi. After I asked, Cristina gave us a partial refund.
Bottom line is that we did not get to stay with our friends, which is what we wanted, and communication was less than seamless.
Unfortunately, this rental apartment was EXTREMELY BELOW STANDARD and different than what's advertised on the AirBnB Web site. The "owners" are a rental apartment management company and have several apartments in their portfolio. Some apartments may be fine (spacious, bright, etc....) and therefore get fair or good review by the guests. Our apartment had almost no sunlight, a view of a old building under demolition, an old and dirty carpet in the bedroom, no air conditioning in the living room, an old wireless router (no wifi connection half of the time), a very small and old broken fridge (couldn't store bottles/they would fell down and break), and a broken toilet seat. We also asked them to give us better pot, pan and kettle (the one provided were absolutely unusable). We were more than disappointed. This specific apartment should not be rented via AirBnB. The "owners" were responsive and helpful. They allowed us to check-in earlier and had the key available at the doorman. The building, centrally located, has a washing machine, doorman 24 hours and nice swimming pool. The owners gave us access to another apartment for 6 hours after check-out. This one was a nice apartment (bright, spacious, new WiFi wireless router, good fridge, nice views of city and mountain). The owners also replaced one of our bottle of wine that broke because of the old broken fridge. To conclude, we suggest the owners to advertise with photos that belong to the correct apartment and NOT TO RENT the apartment which is close to their management office (apartment number 4 on 2nd floor). This one is unacceptable. I also wish AirBnB would screen better rental apartments in Argentina. We have been extremely satisfied in Europe. This is our second disappointment in Argentina.
I had a great experience staying at Cristina's place. The apartment was very clean, spacious and on the top floor. I didn't meet her, but the guys working concierge are very nice and were able to answer a few questions I had (via (website hidden) translation.)
Gracias Chandler!! Fue muy agradable contarte dentro de nuestros distinguidos huespedes.
