Nora was an absolutely amazing host! She was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating regarding any specific requests. Her cottage was warm and cosy, spotlessly clean, in a great location (being only a few minutes stroll to Eyre Square) and she had left a gorgeous bottle of wine, lots of essentials like fruit, bread, ham, cheese, cereals, tea and coffee etc and everything you need when you arrive, tired, after a long journey. It was a lovely touch alongside all the others like fresh flowers, fluffy clean towels, shower gels and ice cubes to name but a few. Parking at the rear of the property was a huge bonus and the view from the kitchen and bedroom was stunning.
Nora went out of her way to send one of my bags (I left it behind by mistake!) across the country by train back to me which was such a kind thing for her to do for me.
Thank you so much Nora everything and bring on the next stay in a most magical little piece of Galway. Can't wait to come back! X
We arrived and had a nice welcome by Nora who showed us the lovely house , the place was super clean and very tidy , she even got us a bottle of wine which was very kind , we stayed 2 nights , the place was warm and we will defo come back and stay there again , we 110% recommend the place
House was just what I expected and very clean and warm. Nora met us and was very flexible regarding leaving times etc. Safe parking near the city helps as well.
Would definitely stay again.
House is lovely with everything you could need (including a decent hairdryer!) and lots of personal touches like flowers, selection of food for breakfast and even fluffy socks and wine! Mattess was really comfy, place was spotless and very warm and Nora was very helpful and accommodating, would definitely recommend, also only 10/15 min walk from eyre square and secure parking.
We loved our stay at Cosy Cottage. Sadly, Nora was overseas during our stay so we didn't get to meet her. However, she arranged for a friend to meet and greet us at the cottage. Phyllis was lovely, she explained everything we needed to know including public transport options, places to eat, etc.
At Nora's behest, Phyllis provided us with a lovely bottle of red wine and scrumptious fresh scones.
The cottage was very comfortable and everything was provided including ample basic foods such as bread, milk, butter, jam, cereals and chocolate! The beds are very comfortable and the wi-fi was very fast. The cottage well and truly matched with the description and therefore our expectations.
The location of the cottage is excellent - within easy walking distance of Galway city centre, supermarkets and with lots of options for places to eat. We particularly appreciated being able to park our hire car off the street in a secure area at the back of the cottage.
The view of the bay from the kitchen window was beautiful which made washing up much easier - there is a full size dishwasher if washing up isn't your caper.
I would highly recommend the cottage and Nora as your hostess.
Nora came to meet and welcome us at her charming bnb (she was very flexible about our arrival time since we were driving from Dublin Airport) and gave us a quick rundown on where to park and how to adjust the heat and other pertinent instructions. She gave us some nice restaurant recommendations which we took her up on. Her refrigerator was generously stocked so we didn't need to rush out and shop at all. The cottage was cosy, sparking clean, and accommodating and I would stay there again in a minute!
Thank you Nora! We had a wonderful stay in Galway.
Perfect spot to stay when passing through Galway(or a longer stay). Close proxmity to Galway city(10 mins walk into the city), very cosy, spotless and fast internet. Nora was a lovely host who left food for us to make brekkie and lunch, was flexible and helped us when we were trying to find her street. Looking forward to our next trip to Galway already, safe in the knowledge that we could happily stay here again in comfort.
We had an excellent stay in Nora's cosy cottage - the cottage was nice and warm when we arrived, everything we could thinking of was supplied and the city center location was ideal.
Nora was an excellent host! She was very welcoming when we arrived and showed us around the cottage, and even suggested some great places for dinner. She stocked the fridge with the bare essentials for us, and additionally gave us a lovely bottle of wine and chocolates! The cottage is very cosy and is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown Galway where all of the pubs and shops are located. We had a lovely time and very much enjoyed our stay.
Stayed in Nora's lovely little cottage for a weekend. It was very clean and she was very helpful. The cottage is a 5 min walk from the centre of Galway. Would stay here again.
Nora was the perfect guest - easy to communicate with, clear on arrival and departure times, considerate and thoughtful - an all round lovely lady!
Any host would be lucky to have her come and stay. Thanks for coming to Clapham Nora, cheers Emily.
