The environment is as its description, the room is not quite clean but it's OK to someone just need place to rest. The location is very close to USC and is convenient to take the public transportation. If someone has to visit USC, it's a good choice to live here.
The house was really dirty and messy... mainly the bathroom!
The deb is located on the entrance of the house.
Its great located, 2 min walking from bus station.
We didn't meet the host, but we had all the information we needed to check in. I recommend this stay, but you have to know that its dirty!
The room is small and looks not very clean. I did not meet the host. He lives not there. But his 2 friends. There came a nasty smell from one of their rooms. And they were loud in the evening, also the neighbours. The bathroom seems to be never cleaned. Although the area seems to be safe, I would not recommend this room.
This place is actually very nice and convenient for the price. The neighborhood isnt the nicest looking, but its a warm and friendly community with college students and families. You feel very safe and overall an excellent stay!
The host was very welcoming and helpful. The room was nice and exactly what I needed. I was attending a 2 day (1 night) conference on the USC campus, and this was the close, convenient, and affordable place was that I was looking for. The neighborhood wasn't the best, but I never felt unsafe or on guard.
Chia-An was a very nice guy! Their place was strangely huge and laid out in a very funny manner, but that's inconsequential! He offered me bottled water and made sure I had what I needed.
The place was alright. Could have been somewhat cleaner, but the rate was good. Plenty of space, for sure. The neighborhood is a tad sketchy but I didn't encounter any problems. Thankfully there was a crazy loud fan in the room that drowned out any outside noise from the dogs/cars/trains/etc.
In the end, I got pretty good sleep and that's what matters most!
Location is key! I was walking distance to the usc game and not far from the highway. Free parking(keep in mind street sweeping rules) and a private room with bathroom. I felt safe, welcomed and very happy with my decision to stay here.
As the other reviews describe, it is a private, modest, clean room with clean sheets and towels. There are two bathrooms shared with other guests in the four bedroom apartment. I felt secure there. The working-class neighborhood is family oriented and I felt safe. I would happily come back on another trip.
If you need to stay in a very quiet, upper-class neighborhood with brand new amenities, you should look elsewhere. However, if you are well-traveled, self-reliant, street-smart, communal, open-minded and mindful of the value for the low rate, you should be comfortable here.
The owner wasn't at home when I got there, but a very apologetic phone call later he showed up and told me he wanted to clean the room before we got in. When I got back, he bumped us up to a private room! Very thoughtful.
To make it clear, this is very similar to a hostel environment. If you're in your 20's - early 30's, it'll be a great bang for your buck (but I'd bring earplugs). Out of that bracket, you might want to look elsewhere.
Could've been a little cleaner, but you get what you pay for! Perfect for those with a low budget e.g. backpackers. Cheapest around, with good travel links and Chia-An was always contactable when needed.
Chia-An is a kind person and always willing to help people. He is a great and caring host!
